I think Typhoo (the tea) has taken over as the U.K.'s best selling tea now- overtaking PG Tips. I've never tried it either, though. I like PG Tips, so if it's anything close to it, I should give it a shot one day...

Does anyone know which teas are blended to make up Typhoo?

Try here:

Typhoo is a strong blend of black teas, good for a morning cup. It's very similar to PG Tips.

And you, you are a thousand miles away,

ITS FOUL!!!

Sorry for shouting but it is a truly diabolical bagged tea which is popular here in the UK. I can't imagine its surpassed PG or Tetley though - has anyone numbers on this?

The taste is one of.....tree bark. Tasteless tree bark.

The company was originally established 1903 in the UK but its been bought up by an Indian tea merchant now.

I bought some and tried it. It's not foul. IMO it's better then Tetley. It's a weak afternoon tea, kind of like a breakfast tea but lacks the big punch.

I bought loose Typhoo and gave it away almost immediately. I must agree that it was virtually undrinkable - but this is from someone who drinks greens primarily.

Nope, sorry. I actually read that in a brochure from a company selling it, so there you go. Here's some interesting reading on the brand if anyone is interested, though.

Could you scan that brochure for me, I'd like to see it.

Thanks!

Personally, I think it would taste better as an iced tea.

I don't really like it. My mum loves it.

Sorry J, it wound up in the garbage a long time ago. I think it came from the English Tea Store, though, so if you get on their mailing list, they may send it.
