Thursday TeaDay 10/30/08 Fave tea of the month?

by Chip » Oct 29th, '08, 23:49

Welcome everyone to TeaDay. I hope you will share what is in your cup today, all day.

Yesterday most responders indicated their tea tastes are changing with the cooler weather. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic ... it is the end of the month again. Time to find out our favorite tea for the month of October. So, what is your fave for October? Please share.

I am looking forward to sharing favorites, and our TeaDays. Bottoms up ...

Yay!!! First post of the day! (although kind of cheating since it's still Wednesday here in Oregon) My dreams have been realized!

I had two favorites this month: Nilgiri Glendale Estate Handmade from TeaSource and Adagio Irish Breakfast.

Geeber, I am so happy for you!

I just have a terrible time picking favorites. No favorite color, no favorite animal, no favorite food, no favorite tea, not even favorite for a month. I have had a number of memorable puerh over the last month, including this good, but not great, coffee-like shu, and a very nice young sheng I am sipping now, Yiwu Zhen Shan, a gift from Nada.

My favorite for this month really is just oolong in general, I have been drinking more of the TeaMasters Boazhong than any other.

I almost ... almost said WHITE. I have discovered 3 whites that have been so outstanding, but I haven't had them often enough to call them my fave of the month.

Much to my disappointment, after 14 hours of work today, I am not going to bed now, darn it. Hopefully my journey back to the hospital will be short and sweet and I'll be tucked into my warm bed in a couple of hours. I will brew up something warm and delicious to take with me... it's chilly outside!

My favorite tea this past month was, without question, greenish Darjeeling. So, even though in my heart of hearts, it doesn't taste or brew or behave much like a black tea, I did vote "black"... purely on technicality of definition. I still say Dj should be its own class, or at least falls closer to an oolong than to a black... anyway, it was Dj FTW this month!

Happy tea day to all,

Sarah

A Pu-erh for me. Probably Upton's China Classic shu, although some rose scented tuo-chas from Victoria are a close second...

Trying an Upton mini tuo-cha tonight at work. Tastes a lot like the Classic just shaped like a bowl. Not too bad...

Favorite tea was my black flavors blend I created. I drink it at work all the time. Next month is a different story as I work though samples of greens, oolongs and whatever else I end up nabbing. I will definitely need to create a monthly tea budget...

In my cup is Canada Dry Ginger Ale (because I am still a little sick). Though I just tried a couple mixes of Yerba Mate. One a mix with White Peach (good) and the other with Berry Blues (also good). My coworkers Ideas of mixes are interesting.

I can't believe I'm not going to say a pu-erh, but instead an Oolong. There's about three I've been drinking regularly this month. Pu-erh was a very close second though, and with some new arrivals on their way, we'll be back to pu next month.

Currently about to brew a cup of I don't know yet. Works been kicking my ass, and I don't wanna think.

Picked oolong for this month which I normally would have anyway, but especially because of the wonderful gifts of oolong I received recently.

In my cup I have a Nilgiri Thiasola TGFOP-1 from my hometown tea vendor.
This is all because of Victoria.
My impression from the first cup went from ordinary to exceptional.
I am off to brew another cup.

Favorite for the month is Margaret's Hope darjeeling. I drink it mostly at work.

Started this morning with a travel mug of Irish Breakfast. I'm now enjoying my first mug of darjeeling for the day.

I picked puerh because I think that's what I drank the most of, although the only one I had more than once was the 2005 Jinggu Arbor Tree Beeng that shogun seems to suggest in every pu beginner's thread.

Although the taste of Megami Sencha from Ito En might have been the most delicious.

Not sufficiently awake to fumble in the tea cabinet for tea, so I'm swilling down some Irish Breakfast with turbinado sugar. Too bad no one's figured out how to mainline our preferred tipple
