The Tea That Never Lost Flavor

by bambooforest » Nov 4th, '08, 20:12

I have a very serious question I want to ask the forum.

Let's say you threw some leaves into a pot and realized session after session: no flavor diminished.

In other words, every steep tasted like the first. This remaining true even after the 5th steeping, 7th steeping, 15th steeping etc.

More, imagine this is green tea (Sencha).

Question: Would you keep on drinking from it and not get freaked out? Would you simply capitalize and ask no questions?

Or...

Would you wonder what the hell is going on and stop drinking it out of fear?

What would you do?

Why do I get the feeling I'm about to be part of a commercial for a new Everlasting Gobbstopper Green Tea?

I wouldn't care WHY... I'd just keep drinking it, assuming it was yummy.

I would buy a ton and then sell it myself as "the miracle tea that never loses flavor steep after steep, cup after cup"........make my fortune, take a few trips to Japan and aquire some custom teaware and then retire to my own private island.

I would do multiple steeps and be super happy until I got bored, and then I'd feel guilty tossing it out.

(enter Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop)

This is the tea that never ends,
It just goes on and on my friend,
Some people started drinking it not knowing what it was,
And now they will be drinking it forever just because ...

... This is the tea that never ends ...

I would so setup a teashop and sell brewed green tea with it. Massive profit!

When I have a tea session, I don't like to interrupt it to start it again some hours later. So I very seldom get more than 7-8 steeps for a tea, even if I would be able to get some more steeps of it.
If I had such a miracle tea, I would simply throw the leaves away at the end of my session.

I'd make my cash...

buy a solid gold toilet... then

then invest the rest in a new invention, infomercial style, ...and then go broke....

go broke on principal, mind you, but keep the toilet...lol

This is the most disturbing thing I have heard all week.

Do we need to have an intervention for you, S_F?
