Welcome everyone to TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today, all day.
Yesterday, we began the voting on the Alishan TC/TCR tasting. The voting is still open. We will choose 6. The voting for the last 3 is very close, anything could happen. Please vote if you have not, even if you have not tried any Alishan. There are links provided in yesterday's topic for your convenience. You may also discuss yesterday's topic as well.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. TreaZure asks, "If you are going to be away from home for more than a day, do you bring tea and a pot with you?" Do you take any measure to make sure you have good tea when away, extraordinary measures maybe? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

When away, two things occur most often: I buy teabags and/or I purchase teas from small shops along the way. If I do need to bring something with me it's usually a bag as it's not certain I'm going to be able to steep tea easily on a plane then neatly pack or clean the pots and kettles. Extreme cases aside, a small, 3-4 serving container or baggie with a few coffee/silk filters keeps me swelled with warm tea as I go. Somehow I think I'm not that much of a tea fanatic after writing this.
Current cup: Green Earl Grey, looking to try an Apple and Sour Apple infusions/herbals later.

I have a travel tea set that I take with me......I have a picture of it posted in the forum somewhere.....if I can find it, I will edit my post and put in the link. Anyway, it consists of an igloo lunchbox in which I have added foam padding. The foam padding is thick like memory foam and I have cut out slots in the foam to fit a smal 4 oz. gaiwan, lid, saucer and cup, all made of brown yixing clay lined with white porcelain on the inside so it is not porous therefore I can brew whatever I want in it.There is also a front zipper compartment in which I have 5 tiny glass jars with lids in which I place my tea. I usually have silver needle, a premium sencha, taiping hou kui, aged Pu-erh and my homemade genmaicha. When I travel I usually only go by car or train, etc. and not a plane, so I always take this kit with me. As far as boiling water, most hotel rooms have a microwave and you can always find something to heat the water in in the microwave.

I would bring my IngenuiTEA and sampler tins of tea. If it was a longer trip or rougher (like camping), I would plan my tea use more!

Long Jing Huang Pao

Another unusual tea … in fact a unique tea … from Proinsias, the tea magus who comes up with surprising teas like a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat!
Unlike the more famous green tea that is also called Long Jing, this dry-fermented black tea is made from the re-invention of a recipe that had been lost for 300 years. Once again, thanks Proinsias for sharing a rare tasting experience.

Yes, if more than a day, I take it all. Including a kettle. The main reason for also taking a kettle (in addition to being able to heat water on demand) is that I pack my tea and teaware for the trip inside the kettle. It's a convenient place to store it all and avoid breakage.
