Meng Ding Huang Ya

As far as tea is concerned, every day I treat myself to Christmas. This photo is a yellow Christmas, as Meng Ding Huang Ya is yellow tea ... let the yellow snow jokes commence.

Yes, tea accessories for me! I plan on a major remodel of my office TeaSpace!

After looking at some of the lovely setups, I was embarrassed! I truly want my TeaSpace to reflect a sense of peacefulness and beauty.

Speaking of beauty ... let's all come together in the spirit of our diversity, and show off our English Style Teacups!! Most of us have at least one set, right?? Maybe?? If not we can at least admire and ultimately vote for our favorite!

Check out the English Teacup Competition here:

Have a lovely TeaDay Everyone!

I haven't given much thought to the matter, honestly I just realized how quickly the gift giving season is coming up, I need to figure out what to get my dad and brother (mom is easy, I might just order her a signature blend tea) before I think about myself. No tea in my cup now, far to late at night, though a pitcher of iced ceylon will be waiting for me after I get some sleep.

How about "all of the above"?? I'd be delighted if someone gave me teaware, tea, cups...I crave Salsero's Bodum cups.
Although my neighbors are all barbarians,
And you, you are a thousand miles away,
There are always two cups on my table.

Hm, this was a tricky one. I opted for teacups since selection of a teacup says a lot about the selector and how well they know the recipient. I don't really have much on my want list though, most of what I want I would just go order so it's tricky for me to have a want list.

I went with a heating device. Currently the pot on the stove is ok but I have to make 4 infusions at a time in my gaiwan. That way I don't have to reheat back to a specific temperature.

I don't have anything in my cup yet but I will be trying either assam or another darjeeling tonight.

I want it ALL! But TEA is what I need.

Thats a really pretty picture Salsero. I love the way the light reflects off of the tea. Do you like your bodum glasses? I was a litttle disappointed with how thinly walled mine were. They are no doubt beautiful and a great way to see the tea from every angle to appreciate its color but I just wish mine were thicker. Anyway, to get back on topic....I would really like a nice water heater.......I have wanted one for a while but have always found an excuse to use money for tea or another pot, cup ,etc....so hopefully if I dont get one for myself Santa will bring me one.....

No, I love my Bodum glasses! Thin glass is good glass. I never heard anyone say they wanted nice thick, clunky wine glasses.

Thanks for the kind words on the photo. :D

Ah, Salsero, seeing that Bodum glass—and its contents!—in the spotlight reassures me to no end at the moment. I'm confident they are tougher than they look. Something about borosilicate glass... they're made out of lab test tube!

Now why wait till December for a good cup of tea? I've been thinking about a gaiwan though... or anything that will take my mind off more yixing pots!

Oh yes, I do agree that thin glass is good glass....I think I must have gotten a bad batch.....when I say that mine are thin, I mean, you coulg probably flick it, and it would break in certain spots........the company I got them from screwed up a bunch of other stuff in my order too. Obviously they are not at fault for the glasses, but they could have at least looked before they sent them. They made up for it though and sent me a bunch of free cups and tea. I just didn know if you experienced the same thing with them almost feeling flimy to the touch, but I guess not....perhaps I will contact Bodum directly and send them the glasses and get a replacement!

Just got a pair of Bodums the other day. First use, water got between the double walls, bummer. Bodums are not on my Christmas list this year.

Wow, defective glasses. Trioxin has said that they use them in the restaurant where he works, where they receive really heavy use and go through the industrial dishwasher after every use, yet look great and last forever ... unless you drop them from a height, of course.

You guys got a bad batch. By all means return, exchange, complain, gripe, get replacements. They are not supposed to be like that. Wouldn't hurt to refer them to this thread, BTW, when you register your complaint.
