Sunday TeaRoom TeaDay 11/9/08 Where are you?

by Chip » Nov 9th, '08, 00:14

Welcome everyone to our virtual TeaRoom. Please share what is in your cup today, all day.

Remember to visit the TeaWare forum for the Teaware Contest, complete with great prizes!
Yesterday, responders were surprisingly close in the vote of where would you go, where it is warm and sunny, or where it is cold and snowy. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Back to the TeaRoom again today. Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic, Sundays are typically "slowsky" days on TeaDay and the forum in general. Sooo, on a typical Sunday, why are you here less than any other day? Please share.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on TeaDay. Bottoms up.

Currently drinking a pu-erh sample graciously sent to me by the illustrious Sal.

Sunday is frequently my cooking and baking day, and if I walk away from the stove/oven to go to the computer, something will end up on fire.
Life is like a cup of tea, savor it slowly or it will be gone too fast

Definitely chillin' out on Sundays. Maybe a cooking day too. I like to do some baking so that we can have fresh bread and cookies and such for (if my brother doesn't get at them) the start of the work week.

I'm not drinking anything right now, since I'm in bed, but I enjoyed a lovely White Grapefruit earlier, with some lemongrass mixed in for the second infusion.
I believe drinking tea makes me a better artist. But hey, I also believe I'm completely sane.

Thanks Chip!

Not a lot of contestants on the English Style Teaware Competition Contest, so the odds of winning entry are looking pretty good!

Haven't even gotten to sleep yet, despite doc's kickapoo sleeping tablet. Another RA attack and my joints are like giant spurs which makes it hard to sleep.
grumble.

So I'm sitting here slurping down a pot of decaf loose Irish Breakfast Blend mixed with a good bit of rum.

Going to be one of those days when I have to force myself to do the sweetness and light thing rather than the snarling crabby old weeeeeaaaaaaaaaatch thing. grumble growl - oh wait, today is football day! Counting the hours!
Jeanne - I never met a tea pot I didn't like.

I voted Family Day, but it usually ends up a random mix of housework, cooking, family day, and 'other.' We used to be very involved at our church, but church politics made it very hard to stay where we were and we haven't found a new church yet. (color me guilty!)

No tea since it's 10 p.m. here, but tomorrow am going to give the Nilgiri Green another try.

g'night!

I'm pretty much anywhere, but in front of my computer. I get enough of it during the week, so I try to take care of other needs on the weekend.

Adagio Emerald Needle

by Salsero » Nov 9th, '08, 02:56

Treazure: RA = Rheumatoid Arthritis? That does sound painful.

I said "Catching up on housework/chores" but the chores are more often than not most of the other things on the list and then some unusual ones like today spending hours self-indulgently creating a vanity collection of photos in Lulu as per Carnelian's suggestion. Of course the spots where you put the photos are not the same shape as the photos so they get all kinds of sliced up and mutilated.

Still, after putting in some time, I was curious to see what it looks like in print and did just what I said I would never do: ordered a copy of it! If the print quality is acceptable I will let TeaChatters know where they can get a copy. Turns out each time you add a page the price goes up, so the pressure is to squeeze as many photos onto a page as possible to keep the price down, but then the pictures are too small to be worth it. Believe me, the best place to see these things is right here on TeaDay ... they are free and frankly photographs all look better one at a time than in a bunch.

I hear I missed a great episode of smell-o-vision Saturday with TeaBabes and everything, and Vulture at the helm. Drats! Well, at least the night before I had a nice long chat on the blind man's video chat with Brandon, EO, and Padre. Having to say and hear all these bizarre Chinese names is a big challenge!

I hope I can get in the Sunday edition of the videochat carnival. It's fun!

Another Adagio tea today, Emerald Needle:

I don't think I am less on teachat on sunday. Sunday is usually the day when I prepare the work for the following week which means I am not very far away from my computer.

Yunnan golden tips with my breakfast.

I'm here Saturday night/Sunday morning because like Trioxin, I'm at work. When I get home at 0800 this morning, it will turn into family day since it's the only day I have off where everyone else is off work and school too. Today is my baby girl's 2nd birthday and we'll have a house full of people. Not what I want to come home to after I've been up all night long. Ugh.

Church takes up most of the morning until noonish. But after that, it's a combo of all the rest of the stuff on the list, depending on the week! :D

I went w/ adagio's oolong #40 again to go along with breakfast.

This coming week will be interesting. Go into work on Monday. Get Tuesday off. Go back to work Wed-Fri....

I chose "other" because I'm here just as much on Sundays as I am any other day.

Kenyan Pekoe from TeaSource in my cup. I really like this tea. It's hearty and flavorful. It's not the best tea ever or anything, but it's definitely good.

Today, more rock tea. Help Victoria and I celebrate national Yancha Month!
Rou Gui from Red Blossom (purchased in 07, harvest unknown).

(Hey, this guy's a hack... There should be a rule against using the same props twice.)

Edit: Salsero was pretty irrate that I reused dark stones after he already cornered the market with his lovely chess pieces. Its sort of like finding out we both showed up to the party in the same dress. Here's the "second infusion."

It's national Yancha month?! no one tells me anything

I celebrated with some cold brewed 'ancient tree tea' Yancha that I brewed by pouring cold water over nearly spent leaves and letting it sit overnight
(my interpretation of Toki's method)
