first of all I'd like to thank you all for allowing me in this really nice group. Thanks to Thomas who helped me contacting moderators, and to the moderators as well

I hope I'll make some tea friends here. Today I was thinking of how I got exposed to Chinese tea: while they sometimes drink tea in Italy, it is usually some kind of Lipton teabags with sugar and lemon, or they use it when they fall ill. Italy is rather a coffee drinking country (maybe someone would like some Italian coffee blends or coffee ware), so you have to be a little peculiar to appreciate green or Chinese tea here. In fact my first contact with it was in Turkey, while being shown some carpets: when I came back home I tried some canned tea powder and... well, more about this on the forum.
Tea is one between other interests: I am a language teacher (Italian), also studying Sanskrit (that's in my nickname too) and, during the good season, I grow a collection of cacti plants. I also play the recorder in an early music ensemble. Usually an Italian friend of mine who's working in China took much everyday-longjing and some good bilochun (sorry if they're misspelled) for me, but it's so much time he doesn't take tea home, and now I am thirstily looking forward for green and oolong samples I ordered online a while ago, together with some basic tea ware. There's much to learn from all the tea gurus here!
Good night for now,
Andrea
