Welcome TeaFriends to TeaDay! Please share what is in your cup (and on your plate) today, all day.
Yesterday, the "boob tube" lost. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic brings together 2 of my favorite things, though they rarely come together in earnest for me, tea and food. Today, I will look for the opportunity. So today, will tea be enjoyed with food. If yes, what tea and what food? Please share.
I am as always looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up ... and let's eat?

Well, I never like to enjoy really high end tea with food....I think the food can detract from the subtle flavors of the tea......I will always enjoy a nice cup of tea at a chinese/japanese restaurant but lets face it...they arent using premium sencha from o-cha or hibiki-an...ya know! Anyway, right now I am still sipping on some TaiPing Hou Kui that I have been brewing for a little bit now.

Yunnan Noir
I don't usually eat with tea, but this is one that will stand up to bacon and eggs any day. Adagio’s new China black seems to have made a big splash in a truly American genre, Noir.
I love the leopard skin "slacks," très chic as she murmurs to Mike Hammer, “I don’t care what you do to me, just do it fast!” I get that from the girls a lot too.

I usually have tea with breakfast at home. And I finally brought in some greens and found a box of Tazo tea that a co-worker had given me awhile ago, so I've been drinking that at work with lunch (and also tea when not eating). But I'm stuck w/ bags at work (see poll a few days ago).
An Xi oolong this morning again. No monkeys were used in the process of picking tea, they assured me.

Except for black tea with breakfast, because I drink iced tea all year, I often have iced tea with lunch and/or dinner, usually a white or green fruit combo.
The breakfast cup today was Nilgiri, Glendale Estate, Handmade, a bit lighter than I usually like to wake up with, but still, a nice start to a sunny, blue-skied Autumn day.

I third that!!! Any black tea oops...I of course mean 'Good Black Tea' in the am w/breakfast is delightful. I especially like w/homemade scones or tea biscuits!stanthegoomba wrote:My thoughts exactly.boywoodie wrote:I voted YES, with multible types of tea with food today...esp desserts..tea cookies.
(Everything goes with cookies!)

In my cup, Darjeeling to start then on to Nilgiri blue.
Have a FAB TeaDay everyone and come back often and share.... as Chip says

Salsero... love the photo today, especially the retro picture and the lipstick on the cup... great touch!
I have tea with and without food, all day long. I rarely drink anything else with a meal than tea. But, to be fair to the tea, I rarely drink a first or 2nd infusion with food, so I can enjoy the tea at its best; and if I have nothing brewed when it's mealtime, I usually use a ceylon-based blend that I would never crave on its own, but which goes nicely with food. My favorite flavors with food are the same as my favorites on their own... various oolongs and greener darjeelings.
In my cup now, re-roasted Wuyi Ensemble... remarkably better after a light roasting (see my post under miscellany if you have any interest in roasting tea).
Happy Tea Day to all.

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***
