Welcome one and all to TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today, all day.
Yesterday, responders were pretty split of the subject of tea and food. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic was suggested by my sencha arch rival
, Pentox, who wondered, "has being in TC changed your preferred vendor? ... has anyone come into TC and then changed their primary vendor(s) of choice?"
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone today. Bottoms up!

I still buy from my preferred vendors but I discovered other very good vendors through Teachat.

Yes, definitely. TeaCuppa was my preferred vendor before I came to TC.
I haven't ordered from them in quite awhile now.

I would say yes...I still go to some of the vendors I went to before, but only for speciffic things. This forum definitely opened me up to some great places to get fresh Japanese greens that I was unaware of before. Right now I am drinking some iced sencha that I cold-brewed earlier today. Happy brewing all!

My answer would be no.
I like adagio's tea, so I'm happy. ($3.75 for shipping..pretty good)
I have gone to other tea shops but not other websites.
I started with English Tea Store website..stale, tastless teas plus shipping is way too much.
yours in tea

TeaChatters largely created the long list of vendors I use currently. So
Majorly for me. All of the Japanese, all of the Chinese, one of three Indian, and some of the USA.

For me the question is a No. My preferred vendor is still Lupicia, but I have added the others to my repertoire. No vendor has yet to trump them though.

I never bought from anybody but Upton and the local grocery stores before I started coming here. (I had just placed my first Adagio order a couple days before discovering TC, and I was nervous about doing that much.) So I said "yes, majorly". I actually don't have a favorite vendor at the moment, but TeaSource is making me awfully happy right now...

I voted Yes it did change it. I started drinking from adagio's. I still have my Adagio Sampler Army stashed away right now. From there I am starting to leave the gateway tea vendor into others.

I said "no" because I started being on TeaChat the same time I started serious exploration into drinking tea. So TC is responsible for helping me to find lots of different source.
Now if only I had asked about the Royal Tea Garden before ordered from there. . . it might still come, right?
Adagio's Oolong #40 with breakfast this morning. . .

I haven't changed vendors. But, as I am new to TeaChat, I am thinking that when I am ready to try some new teas, I will order samples from Adagio, our gracious hosts here.
I have never ordered tea online. I have been fortunate to have places to go to taste tea before I order.
I have a cold, so this morning I am drinking an herbal blend of my own devising.
Yesterday I couldn't take anymore herbal, had to reach desperately for oolong. This morning my throat needs the herbs.

I voted 'I don't believe so' because I still look to Adagio first if there is something I'm interested in tea-wise, and for my 'basic' teas. If they don't have what I'm looking for, then I will look elsewhere. They have good tea at good prices and great service.
TeaChat has been a great resource in that way. Recently I went on a Nilgiri exploration and several TeaChatters were really encouraging. Not only was I able to get good advice on where to order different Nilgiris, but I also got to swap with a couple of other TeaChatters. This gave me a great overview of Nilgiri teas and I was able to settle on a few favorites, plus it was fun!

Same for me, Teachat introduced me to vendors such as O-Cha, Teaspring, Hibiki-an + others I am yet to order from.
Placed an order today from Teaspring for 25g the following teas, non of which I've tried (except Yunnan Gold from different vendors)...
Smoked Lapsang Souchong
Yunnan Gold
En Shi Yu Lu (Steamed

)
Bi Luo Chun
Lu An Gua Pian
Bai Hao Oolong
Had the last of my Teaspring Yunnan Pure Gold this morning and about to have some Dong Ting Bi Lo Chun before I start any serious work! I handed in two essays yesterday so am having a bit of a quiet one today.
