Friday TeaDay 11/21/08 TeaSnobbery

by Chip » Nov 21st, '08, 01:14

YAY, Friday TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today, all day.

Yesterday, responders were almost completely placing themselves at either a 3 or 4 out of 5 on the TeaSnob scale. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic takes a new perspective on TeaSnobbery. How do you think OTHERS view your level of TeaSnobbery, be honest, AND grin and bear it! Oh, and have fun with this topic.

I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone! Bottoms up.

Assam malangi a la japonnaise

by Salsero » Nov 21st, '08, 01:49

Others tend to think my tea drinking is extremely sensible, well under control, and impressively cost efficient.

Not.

I prefer the opinions of people like Russian Soul who gave me this Assam sample.

As I live in France where many people spend more money on wine than I spend on tea, most people don't show any excessive reaction to my tea drinking and teaware.

Keemun this morning with my breakfast.

I voted #4, although people see me as not so much a snob, but rather a freak. :)

Drinking ice water right now, about to go to bed...

Except for the couple of friends I've managed to get further addicted (bwahaha), most people don't understand why I buy all these "fancy" teas online. They mostly just nod and smile at me.

No tea yet, midnite here and past time to be asleep.

I am currently a 3 heading to 4 by my friends and roommate's estimate.

I forgot my tea at work so I am having an Arizona iced green tea.

I voted an honest 5, I spend more money on tea than I currently do on anything else, which is quite a bit mind you. I'm also starting to want a lot of teaware I've been seeing so I'm sure it won't be too long until that number increases exponentialy. Of course, there is always Christmas coming up

I was trying to avoid this as I am at work and cannot get a cookie. Thanks for nothing

I am eating cookies and shui xian.

Hmm it's 4:30 already? Huh. I'm celebrating 3000 words written from just before midnight till now. At least it was 3000 words about Blade Runner.

Oh. Topic? Others think I'm stark raving mad.

Not entirely sure if it's the tea.

Hmmm, I voted #3. But given how much I've spent on tea in the last month, most people would probably say #5. But I just wouldn't tell them how much, so they'd probably stick at #3.

No one understands my love of tea in this town. If you don't have a budwiser in your hand...

My work place has great diversity. Not many tea drinkers but many other kinds of geeks. So people are cool and not so astonished by other people's hobbies :D
Some friends will say #4 to me, without the second half of the sentence. Many people collect things anyway, just different things. I used to have more shoes than teas :P

Yeah Friday! Keemun black for the morning and some oolong for the afternoon. I would really love to have some green tea as well, but my time is all booked up!

Budwiser?? Not even sierra nevada or something?
My husband is a beer lover but hates budwiser. I guess he is a beer snob then :P
