Welcome everyone to TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today, all day!
Today is the final day for voting on the TeaCup Contest. So, get out and vote!
Yesterday, the vast majority of responders indicated that other people thought they were TeaSnobs on a fairly high level. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic closes out the "snobbery" line we followed for several days. Again today, please have fun with the topic and try not to make too much of the snob moniker.
So today, how do you rate your level of TeawareSnobbery? Does your pot and cup have to match the tea? Are you high end, mid range, low end in your teaware choices? Please share as "your teaware leads you."
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

I'm not into teaware yet, so I said definitely not.
I've had a bad TeaNight. Maybe tomorrow will bring better tea.

Chip has provided such a convenient answer here, “
I do not think I am, but could be kidding myself.“

I don't believe I am with just a gaiwan and the intenuitea. But with the thoughts of getting a tea table and electric kettle, I might be heading down there.

Teawaresnobbery? I don't think so.
For me a teawaresnob is someone who despises all the people who don't drink tea from the expensive "authentic" teaware bought from the "right" vendor and who despises people who don't brew their tea with the "right" vessel.
I have just what is needed to fully enjoy my tea drinking.
I spend less money on teaware than I have to spend for my car.
Yunnan noir with my breakfast in a few minutes.

Your option would then be, "I do not think I am, but could be kidding myself."

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Lately, I hadn't even had the time to use any of my teaware, which is low quality stuff to begin with. A few cheap Yixings, a couple porcelain pots and a few cups that may match whatever pot I'm using. This week, its been a strainer in a travel mug. Works for me.
Have a good weekend,
EW

Becoming alarmingly snobbier by the day.
All I want now is fishy cups, but I can't find any.

(Like Salsero's, but not; since that would be derivative.)
This morning it's alishan and instant oatmeal, and a snowstorm! Amazing how I can live entirely off a kettle of boiling water...

Fishy cups = teaware.
The rest is just accessories.

I vote that "I am moderately TeawareSnobbish"
Moderate only because I'm not that into pots.
Trouble sleeping and craving tea, I hate these
episodes.

Hmmmm, I'm uncertain which to choose because I collect figural teapots which don't get used, just dusted and in a glass cabinet where the cats cannot go.
I don't own a gawain, the horrors, but have kung pao chickened my teas on occasion in my favorite glazed teapot with square sides and pink in color.
To me, a teaware snob would be one who sneers at anyone who dares to drink their sencha without the proper kimono, teaware and teahouse while giving us lesser beings a lecture on the Finnneeee Arttteeeee of Tea and Howe to Properly Prepare for the Making, Drinking and Contemplation of the Leafffeeee.
Snort. Like Victoria I cannot sleep, even with the blank blank Ambien in me, so I am sitting here drinking one of the new (admittedly a bit pricey and worth it) Assams from Upton. It is one I'll be buying again. Whilst I drink my tea out of my favorite and only glass world mug from Nescafe Classico instant coffee, I am munching some honey and bbq kettle fried chips from Sylvia. A Lapsang would fit the chips well but the cats and I drank the last of it yesterday.
Crap. They just drank the rest of my Assam while I wrote. Little monsters. Snarl.
i wanna cookie like Salsero showed - was it chocolate chocolate chip with macadamia nuts? Hope so, because I've got most of the ingredients to make those today.
Think I'll go boil some candied ginger then add tea. Spicy teas are just about the only tea the cats don't swipe.
Jeanne, licking the remainders of Assam from her mug.
Jeanne - I never met a tea pot I didn't like.

I do not think I am, but could be kidding myself. Sometime this summer, I remember trying to convince my father why I needed to get a teapot because using a four cup Pyrex measuring cup with a plate on top of it was just not right for making my morning tea. He didn't understand the need for an even pouring pot with a good fitting lid though he did understand the terms "coupon for 15% off" and "cheap" as other reasons that I was getting it.
In all honesty, I could be more of a Teaware Snob, but I lack any overly expensive, rare teaware and am more than happy to brew black and oolong tea in my glazed kyusu and drink them out of a mug. I am slightly more snobbish about the smaller kyusu that is only used for Japanese greens, but the other three teapots get used for any type of tea.
I am enjoying the fifth steep of some sencha that I brewed earlier today before I finally decide to go to sleep.

Don't knock the measuring cup/plate gaiwan! Mine is an authentic Ming Dynasty treasure; the artisan stamp on the bottom says "Made in China."
(See? I'm even a pyrex snob

Been wanting to tell fish people that Takahashi of San Francisco did a wonderful figural fish mug which is a blue fish swimming among sea weed. Takahashi's stuff is modestly priced and you can get many of his pieces on eBay the evil and other online places.
Otagiri also did some fish teaware, if I remember correctly. Since I collect cat figural teaware, I don't have any of the fish teaware but admire its beauty and often colorful whimsy.
On my second pot of Irish Breakfast tea made with my own spice mixture, and my first bowl of oatmeal also made with the water from the spices I cooked to add to the tea. Zen in my tummy.
Let's see if I am awake enough to copy a picture here. Hmmmm, evidently not. How about a url? Dunno if that will work, if not, google figural fish tea and go to the one titled TAKAHASHI SAN FRANCISCO FISH DECORATED MUG/CUP
