Hello everyone, I've been thinking of sharing pictures of seasoned teawares everyone has.
It will be very interesting since many of the teawares are 'cultured' and develop natural patina and stain upon using. It's not only limited to yixingwares, but also japanese teaware such as hagi ware or tetsubin. Basically any seasoned teawares are welcomed.
It will be even more interesting if you can mention the most frequent tea brewed in the particular pot to see how each pair of teaware material-tea develop its patina over time. More important we can be more informed indirectly which material match best with which tea (based on how frequent the pair of teaware-tea occurs).
I know it's quite overlapping with another post, however most of pictures there are of new teawares.

At first I thought why you would want to create two different threads, but then I realized how cool it would be. Because you can really see how people are cultivating their teapots. It would also be awesome if people had before and after photos, so the difference can be seen clearly. But what should the time restriction be though? like one or two months?
Xuancheng, I'd suggest to wait until knowing the majority voicexuancheng wrote:I would love to see some nice seasoned yixing, etc.
Should we start posting photos here in this thread, or is the photo thread yet to be started?

Yes, that's the point. We can learn how the patina grows on pots or any teawares due to particular tea. Moreover we can also know first hand from real experiences of others about what material to use with which kind of tea. In my case for example, a zhuni pot develops different patina at various rate upon brewing using gaoshan oolong and puerh. While TGY somehow doesn't suite the particular pot.
Since we're using the teaware at various frequency, I wouldn't suggest any time restriction. It's democracy, you can do based on your convenience.
You're right with the comparison, we might need to find the-last-posted-picture of every individuals and continue the thread everytime consistently. It's just an idea, any input is welcomed.
