Monday Goofy TeaDay 12/08/08 Goofy TeaCup?

by Chip » Dec 8th, '08, 00:16

Today is going to be a goofy TeaDay, maybe a goofy TeaWeek. Stay tuned.

Welcome everyone to TeaDay, please share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday, given a generous $500 gift, responders were pretty split on whether it would go towards Ultimate TeaWare or Ultimate Tea. Ultimately, teaware won out, but you can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's Goofy TeaPoll and discussion topic. Your GOOFIEST teacup or mug, time to 'fess up about it right here on TeaDay. So, please share some details. It can be one that is "dearly departed."

I am looking forward to sharing this goofy TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

While Sal might think all his are exquisite, I think he has a coffee mug somewhere with a company logo or something :P

I actually got a pair of Spider Man mugs from my little brother for Christmas 2 years ago. I never thought I would use them past hot coco. I actually use one at work, the one at home got overridden when I bought some bodum glasses.

Taking a day off from tea. Dehydrated and don't feel like having a rooibos or spearmint tea.

I have to agree with Sal.....all my teaware/teacups are works of art and none of them mass produced.....I suppose given my collection of teaware my goofiest cup compared to all the others would just be a plain white stoneware round 3.5 oz cup that I keep in the geology dept. with one of my gaiwans....but I dont know if I could classify it as goofy.....Right now I am enjoying a warm cup of Karigane in Image

I have no goofy teacups. I have a couple of gifted coffee cups that might fit that bill, but I have never drank tea from them, or even coffee for that matter.

I'm serious about my teacups.

Im just waiting for someone to call the squid cup goofy.......I think we need to clarify about these so called "goofy" tea cups.......I think it only counts as a goofy cup if you actually use it as a tea cup...I think some people have plenty of "goofy" cups they use for tea that arent actually teacups and plenty of people that have actualy goofy teacups but dont use them at all..........I suppose detailed explanations are in order!

My Tsubasa cup (english thread) is probably my goofiest teacup. I'm rather conservative in my teacup purchases and so don't have many garish or outlandish purchases. Most of mine are pure white in some way shape or form. Or glass.

Coffee mugs I have a plenty though in odd varities.

Now wait a second, did "mug" get added to the poll later? Because although I don't have any weird teacups, I certainly have weird mugs -- the weirdest ones being the ones I get from the American Chemical Society. Yeesh.

Finished off my Oolong #40 this morning. :(

Like others, my actual tea cups (and mugs for that matter) are pretty nice.

I have been known to use an empty mason jar on occasion, though. :) I guess that falls under home made.

A pot of Cinnamon Stick this morning. Perfect way to start a cold morning and being off of work :!:

I love this mug with 3 handles. It's called "threesome":P It's my husband's, in my in law's house. Now it's for my exclusive use. When I stay in my in law's house, where is no tea related stuff, I would use it to make tea in a goofy way
