Welcome TeaFriends to TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday, most responders indicated their canisters were pretty much run of the mill. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Aroma/tasting sets. There is a lively discussion on this topic under Teaware currently, but I wondered how many of you have ever used them, use them frequently, never used them, never want to.
Basically, it seems they are a little "controversial." But for those who do not know, the tall narrow cup is used to fully appreciate aroma and the low wide cup is used for tasting. Here is a photo courtesy of Shan Shui Teas. (thanks)

I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

Great poll!
And oh that is a nice set! I'd like a plain white set or a clear glass one.
I have used them once and want to get a set very soon, for occasional use!

I use them occasionally. It's sort of becoming a
Gainesville T Buzz™ tradition for oolongs and pu.

I have never used them but for my horrible nose they should help. I plan on getting some soon to add to my Tea Lab...
Not drinking anything yet.

I have two sets, don't use them often as they're not that useful for J greens.

I just have one aroma cup set (basic white porcelain obtained as a gift with a tea order).
I seldom use it because I prefer to brew a slightly bigger amount of tea at one time.
A gaiwan lid works great as aroma cup.
This morning Yunnan golden tips with my breakfast.

I have used them before...but I am primarily a Jap. Green drinker and so I dont use them often.....right now I am drinking some iced green tea as here in Williamsburg we had a fluke weather pattern and it was in the high 60's today and is supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow...compared to the 30's it was last week.

And it's going to plummet back into the 30s the day after... *sniff* Oh well. It's a shame it'll be raining today for the warmer weather.
I have not used a tasting set yet. I was considering getting one of Adagio's with my next order.
Speaking of which (on a couple levels), I'm enjoying the last bit of my sample of Adagio's Pouchong with this morning's breakfast. I'm burning through all the remaining samples of my oolongs. Maybe it's a good time to reorder...?

I use them when I am in a teahouse and they are served with an oolong. Sometimes but not frequently I also use them at home to give myself a better feel of the tea.
Haven't started tea-drinking yet

Yesterday, most responders indicated their canisters were pretty much run of the mill. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
I thought we said 'Not Goofy' or 'Strange' - I have lots of nice porcelain canisters that I bought online, but too many teas - the others are held in Kitchen canisters inside their ziplocs. I would not call my porcelain jars run of the mill, I may have misread yesterday's question - If I had Sal's propensity with a camera I would have taken some photos and answered differently.
I have not got round to even beginning to want a tasting set yet so voted accordingly - but the way I am addicted to colleted I may well change my mind.
The trouble is - when I first got bitten by the tea bug I envisaged inviting hordes of friends round for tea sessions and at various cut price chinese web sites ordered a selection of tasting cups and tasting bowls - I have about 18 Aroma cups and 24 bowls. I also have 12 wooden trays - so I can construct my own sets!
Opening a new tea packet today - Teance's Wuyi Cliff Big Red Robe!

Interesting Oliver, I am drinking Kaboku lately as well. I think if I want to stock sencha, this might be the one to have. Other favorites are Den's Sencha Zuiko and Lupicia Uji Yabukita. I refuse to drink the dust tea that is so in fashion these days.
Right now I am drinking Lupicia Darjeeling Second Flush.
Today's photo is a cheap knock off of yesterday's - I am away from home so I am sort of slumming it with respect to wares and lighting.
