Adagio Yunnan Noir?

by Bubba_tea » Dec 10th, '08, 13:05

I just checked out the adagio offerings and noticed the new yunnan noir - what do y'all think about it? Had some positive reviews there and a local store started carrying adagio also... have to see if they'll carry this as well..

I tasted Yunnan Noir

I brewed it 2g 100-120ml 3min (3min30, 4 and 5 for the subsequent steeps and I sure could have got some more).
Complex/rich taste with keemun notes. My first impression is that it is a good tea to start the day.

I liked it very much. My favorite of the new releases.

And it's a pretty cool shape... I haven't tried snail tea yet!

I have a sample but haven't tried it yet. I think it will be my morning choice tomorrow. :)

Yeah, I like it. It's really dark, but surprisingly not as concentrated in flavor. It does taste great.

+1, very very dark, but quite good, complex, and I don't generally like Yunnan blacks.

O-oh! A new Adagio yunnan? How does it compare to Jig/Gold?

Bubba, if you PM me, I'll send you my sample. I tried it this morning and didn't really care for it.

I ordered this when I saw it and LOVE it. It has a nice malty aroma and the flavor is nice and complex. The liquor has a nice color to it and the taste lingers and evolves. I took it in my go bag last month on a business trip to replace the hotel in room coffee and was very happy with this to start my day and enjoyed it when I sat down in the evening to review the accumulated tasks of the day.
