So I was actualy listening to some techno stuff and came across a remix of 'Adagio for strings'. It sounded familiar so I went to look up the original song. Not to mention the tie in to the tea web site. Knowing they do a lot of music stuff I thought others would find this interesting.
So doing a basic search I came across Samuel Barber - Adagio for strings (youtube link). This piece was what I was familiar with. But as it was 'for strings' I thought there was something further back than that.
There was an Adagio in G Minor but I decided to look for just the word 'Adagio'.
From Wikipedia: "Adagio, in musical notation, a tempo marking indicating that the music is to be played slowly"
While I know a bit of music (sang in choirs), I never got into the names of all the musical notations. While I don't know which brought about the naming for the web site. Adagio company naming is built from the bottom up from music. From teas to logos. Hopefully someone else finds this interesting as well.[/quote]

This came up a while ago, but I can't find the thread. Maybe it was in the IM, who knows. Anyway, yes, it's cute isn't it? I don't remember how they came up with the name, but I guess you could interpret it as "teas meant to be savored/enjoyed slowly/etc."
