Howdy - anyone know why Chinese characters in Firefox show up like: 醉貴妃 ?

My laptop works ok, but desktop is funky!

Those characters show up Ok for me.
I don't think it's a browser issue (unless the problem is only with Firefox) - more likely to be an issue with your machine not having the right languages installed. What OS are you running, and do other browsers render the characters properly? Do they show up as little boxes or question marks, or what?

If you are using Windows then you probably need to install the eastern asian language fonts. Go into the Control Panel and into Regional Settings. You should be able to find it in there.

Hey - thanks ABx - that did it. I had recently fdisked my computer and didn't re-install the eastern language fonts when I installed office.

The characters I posted above now show up ok - they did look like squares with numbers in the 4 corners.
