Worst: Some inexpensive Chinese greens that were just boring.
On the other hand, I have also had some wonderful Chinese and Japanese greens also this year, like this gyo sample courtesy of Chip and Olivierco .... Thanks, guys!

My worst was some flavored rooiboses that I got as samples from Dragonwater. They smelled so bad and strong that I couldn't even take a sip of them.
I finally got around to going through the box pass. Mom enjoyed helping me and even picked out a few teas that sounded good to her. We brewed a pot of a ginger peach tea that she really liked so it off to a good start for sampling.
Finished today with some hojicha. After I get up at some point tomorrow morning, I will probably will have some Chestnut tea to take with me while running Mom and Grandma to various stores and Mom's doctor's appointment.

I've either been lucky, or I've got a forgiving palette. I haven't run into a really bad tea yet.
I said herbals, though, because I've met a few varieties that smell as though they weren't meant to drink, but to stuff into a sack to keep away the undead.
I'm beginning to come down with some sort of cold. A little stuffed up and a dry throat (not really a sore-throat yet). Any recommendations on tea?

Teacuppa says that their Jade Tie Guan Yin "comforts the throat". My own recommendation would be to drink lots of good quality tea. My boyfriend has had two awful colds this autumn/winter but I've been spared. I think it's because of all the greens and oolongs I drink nowadays.Drax wrote: I'm beginning to come down with some sort of cold. A little stuffed up and a dry throat (not really a sore-throat yet). To funny and a very creative use of teas!omegapd wrote:Celestial Seasonings Apple Cinnamon herbal blend hands down. I used the remaining tea bags from the box as air fresheners and stuck them in my closets and vehicles.![]()

I tried a maitake muchroom/green tea blend that ended up in the trash. I certainly couldn't use that as an air freshener.
I'm leaning toward jasmine this morning......
