Hello hello, new to the site just discovered it now and I should really be asleep but I'm finding it pretty fascinating reading.
I've just started work in a shiny new tea-shop in Edinburgh called Eteaket (not sure what the forum's stance on self promotion is so i won't post a link yet, but google the name 'cos the website is pretty damn swish) so my hobby has become my profession...well one of my hobbies... Here is my other one: (MOD EDIT) YouTube, search Brinechild.
So yeah I'm in the process of learning about teas that I've never encountered before and trying to immerse myself in the tea world like so many leaves in a pot. Painful metaphor? Better get used to 'em.
For the record my current favourite tea is in a state of shift between good Earl Grey and Second Flush Darjeeling, but with a real taste for Jasmine Green Tea Pearls as well.

Yay I feel all welcomed and everything, hello back to you all.
As for real teas, that's left me a little baffled...I hope this place doesn't have a touch of snobbery to it
I'm kidding of course but sort of intrigued as to what you meant by that. Glad to hear there are other scottish people on the board (well I say that I've only been here 5 years), we're pretty well served for tea up here what with Chai-Ovna, our new place and apparently another new Glasgie based shop opening about now.
Now I just need to ween a few more people away from the scottish breakfast option.
Oh also, mod question, why did my youtube link get removed? I looked in the rules but couldn't see anything wrong...it's hardly advertising myself soare youtube links of any kind off limits? Just so I know for later on like.

Greetings from Glasgow brinechild.
I'll try to drop by the shop the next time I'm in Edinburgh.
We do go through the odd bout of tea snobbery but we try to keep on top of it.
I think the link removal is due to spamming issues. A few more posts and a little time should remedy it although I hear Chip responds well to bribes.
