Happy New Year TeaRoom TeaDay activiTea?

by Chip » Jan 1st, '09, 02:13

HAPPY NEW YEARS DAY TeaFriends!

Please share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday, most responders indicated they would be drinking tea this New Years Eve. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's holiday TeaRoom TeaPoll and discussion topic.
"You unlock this door with the key to your imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sight, a dimension of sound, a dimension on smell, a dimension of taste. You are moving into the land of black, oolong, green, white, pu-erh tea. Of caffeine and theanine. Yopu have crossed over into the TeaZone." (paraphrased intro to The Twilight Zone)
What activiTea will dominate your New Years Day?

I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone this holiday TeaDay. Bottoms up.

Happy New Years!

(SECOND!)

For me, 1/1/09 is going to be dominated by cooking. Lots and lots of cooking.

Eating...

Nothing cures like a huge breakfast.

Long night, probably not going to see a pillow until tomorrow night, but the TKY high roasted gift I had earlier today was surprisingly wonderful and helps keep me up. On 3g I brewed an unruly 12 cups and disposed leaves after boredom.

I think tomorrow calls for vegan bacon, lime juice infused-thyme fried potatoes, and strawberry banana waffles, mmm. Fu Jing chinese green tea to awaken my senses and wash away the martini....

looking forward to sorting out my NYC china town puer cakes tomorrow! Hope you guys can help . . .

Happy New Year!

Oh ya, Salsero - super nice pic

by Consilium » Jan 1st, '09, 04:32

Salsero . . .

Thats quite an amazing picture of the coverleaf of that cake. The resolution of your photographs adds an important dimension to the TeaChat forum, please keep up the good work.

I would appreciate any closeups of the spent leaves from that cake you may have on white porcelain. Of course leave the gamma and other midgrounds set to normal (0 - +2%).

Happy New Year. :)

I'm pretty sure I'm drinking Huang Jin Gui from Aroma (Christmas gift).

Sorry, didn't take pix of the spent leaves. They were actually sort of disappointing: they never really opened up all that much. Frankly, the dry leaves of this one are more impressive than the spent! The tea, btw, was wonderful. I hadn't sampled it for six months and I think it has improved substantially. I've had it for almost 2 years now and it has gone from being just a bit ho hum to pretty intense and much more complex. Still poops out, however, after only 5 infusions, which I find unusual in a sheng puerh.

Thanks for the nice comments, Consilium.

Happy New Years to everyone!

I got Christmas off so I work New Years. A nice two nights of 6am to 6pm (tonight and tomorrow night). Otherwise I will be sleeping at home hehe.

Another year has passed and looking back its amazing how I have progressed. While each day seems like the last, all changes are not apparent. Take the time to see those changes.

May you all make progress in your lives and have a good year ahead. With plenty of tea drinking all around! :)

Happy new year everyone! :D

Today I will be in the TeaZone. A bad case of the flu prevented any celebration last night, and while I recover today I'll enjoy many different teas. Started off with a black one, next will be oolong, I think.

明けましておめでとう!

It's actually near impossible for me to work on holidays, which is nice for a change. So instead, today will be filled with some vegging, yes, but mainly I will be cleaning up this dump from the week or so that I was away.

No tea yet, but I'm about to pop up and start it and some breakfast. I'm thinking I'm in the mood for some shu. . .

Happy new year everyone!

We're off to see family later today, so I'm taking the time to enjoy some tea now: at the moment, that's some 2006 12 Gentlemen Yiwu.

Today will be filled with exercise and reading. I started Our Mutual Friend last night, one of the few Dickens novels that I've never read. On this absolutely frigid morning, I am enjoying some of Adagio's wonderful Yunnan Noir.

A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!
