Figgy for the nuthouse

by scruffmcgruff » Jan 4th, '09, 20:50

Damn, this chick (just a guess, correct me if I'm wrong) is really starting to irritate me. No offense to anyone else who may be a deity collector, but this neo-hippie crap has gotten really old.

In some ways, she is quite like MW/CT who instantly resented any sign or person in authority.

Unfortunately, a misleading poll is a waste of many readers' time. I did not really want to get into it there. I offered a suggestion to which she pretty much called me stupid for not knowing, this from someone with more mispellings than words in her posts.

The SB forum is a little probematic for me. We say no self promoting on the forum, yet that is what the SB forum has become on a wholesale basis. It was originally created by Ilya for Adagio to promote the top SB sellers. Now are we going to have a poll for each SBer?

Speaking of self promotion, ever since "the toilet episode", TeaGuy has been pimping his business all over the place

Yeah, each time I see that, I kind get a nervous twitch.

So, anyone know, is he in business or is he doing this as a "public service" to TeaChatters who he never met??? I do have some concerns about it.

He lives in Taiwan and sells tea and teaware.

He sells dime store stuff that you can get anywhere. I'd be embarrassed if it were me.

OK, thanks Brandon. First time I saw him offer to help someone locate something, I thought that was nice of him, but his delivery is so smooth that I got lulled to sleep by it for a bit. Then he disappeared for a while and I figured, problem solved.

Not advocating that you track the guy down or removing posts, but maybe he could use a reminder of the rules. It isn't fair to people like Nada who are positive community members without trying to drive traffic to their site.

It seems figgy has another similarity to MW/CT...she rubs peeps the wrong way. Is it the victim card she is playing?

Thank heavens, I'd been stuck with that nasty roasted TGY but now when I want to think about Kuan Yin she's made a blend especially for me!!!!!

I think she may be a little miffed that the thread below her's is about gods & goddesses and the only response has been 2 thumbs up. The difference is her thread has a poll, and everyone loves a good poll so that can't be the issue.

Maybe we should just let her be... don't feed the trolls, as they say.

[Edit: I in no way meant we should stop *BOO* about her here, I just meant in the stupid deity poll thread.]

Figgy is not only the fastest blender in the west, she's also the most suggestible. I mention Eris, and bam, there's an Erisian blend on Adagio (although interestingly, it seems to have disappeared from her Adagio profile - and Figgy has edited her posting to remove the link to it, too). Proin mentions Kuan Yin, and bam, suddenly there's a Vision of Divine Kwan Yin blend.

We could of course have fun suggesting a million and one "dieties" to see how just far she'll take this (she's now up to 15 blends at last count), but I'd hate to see the Adagio Signature Blends section spammed with blends that no one will much want. It's bad enough that I fed the troll with my tongue-in-cheek Eris suggestion.
