Multiple steepings w/ the ingenuiTEA

by Girlchocolate » Jan 7th, '09, 22:53

So I hear that it's ok to steep tea multiple times, thus making your tea stocks last twice/three times as long! I am using the ingenuitea though, and I have heard from several sources to clean the ingenuitea quickly so that I can keep the plastic thing at the bottom from holding flavors. Does this mean that I cannot resteep with my ingenuitea?

Btw, just tried my first cup of quality tea today (hojicha). Loved every sip, but it got cold quicker than I'd like. Guess I need a better mug.

Thanks for the help guys and girls!

You shouldn't worry about immediately cleaning out the device if you are intending multiple infusions from the same tea.

I used one of these a while back and never had any problems with lingering flavors.

One of the beauties of tea is experiencing the different personalities and emotions (of the tea) you will find in the process of successive infusions.

Just make sure you thoroughly clean afterword. :)

If you preheat your mug you're tea should stay hot longer.

Preheating the mug makes perfect sense, I can try that. I guess tomorrow I'm going to try 3 infusions from the same bunch of leaves and i'll see where that takes me.
Now i'm trying the "taurus" tea that came free with my adagio order. oolong with peach! I'm browsing around the net right now for a nice mug I can take with me back to school... Anyways, thanks a lot for the help.

I never had to get fussy making multiple infusions with my IngenuiTEA or with using it to brew a pretty wide range of teas.
