Honestly, I was a little peeved when I responded because his tone seemed presumptive and rude (am I the only one, by the way?), but did I go too far? I don't think I made any personal attacks, but maybe I should have been more diplomatic.

Anyway, sorry for stirring up shit... again.

No, the guy is trolling, plain and simple. His post was full of pretty thinly disguised insults, and he seemed all too ready to take your post as an excuse to start hurling personal attacks. It also doesn't seem like his response was from actual anger, but rather bemusement.

Seriously, chip, I wouldn't let this go on much further. He pretty blatantly insulted the forum and, by all appearances, intentionally so. IMO it probably should have been killed with a message to choose his words more wisely - but again, just my opinion.

I contemplated pulling it right away, but was hoping he would read my PM and see the error of his ways and take corrective measures.

I then went to post, but Scruff beat me to the punch.

He has been starting to get on my nerves a bit on the forum in general. When I saw this topic/post, I think my BP jumped 50 points for all the reasons already stated.

I will likely pull it before shutting down for the night.

I figure you don't read Hobbes's puerh blog or the puerh forum, so the reference I made was this: After the tenuki/heavydoom blog hate fest over here, HD posted an anonymous rant to Hobbes's blog. Hobbes posted a polite response about the fact that he very rarely receives samples outside of the usual 10g packs we all get added on to our tea orders. HD posted again thanking hobbes for his polite response, but it seems he still has an axe to grind against you horrible blogging folk. It is rather ironic argument from this guy that bloggers think they "know it all" - seems that only he does. Grump.
