Sunday TeaRoom 1/11/09 Intro or Extra?

by Chip » Jan 11th, '09, 02:47

Hello my TeaChatting friends, welcome to our TeaRoom we call TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday responders shared some very good "reads" with each other. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today is another TeaRoom TeaDay, our poll and discussion topic ... We are again off TeaTopic for a change, and again get to learn a little something about each other. ABx mentioned Introversion yesterday, making me wonder, are you an Introvert or an Extravert? If you care to, please share a little bit about your leaning. And as always, have fun with it.

I am looking forward to learning a little about everyone today. Bottoms up.

"I split the difference, right up the middle" although more on the introvert side as far as tea is involved.

Yep, introvert here. I get nuts if I don't have substantial down time alone. Course you know what I am drinking during that down time.

I am a bit of both. Thankfully that was an option. Much of my energy is derived from people, but at the same time I spend a good amount of time thinking to myself.

I am split, too many years of retail and customer support. Makes you at least somewhat a social creature no matter how introverted you are.

One more vote for "both". I came out of my shell a long time ago but like Salsero, still need a little down time.

I voted introvert, because although I've learned to function extravertedly at work and at functions, like Salsero and others have noted, I get frazzled w/o downtime.

This morning, I'm giving my first go at a 2003 CNNP YiWu High Mountain Wild Arbor sheng pu-erh tea. I'm just having my first sips, but I was surprised. The brewed leaves had a strong smokiness to them (the first unambiguous one for me). I can taste the smokiness in the tea; it's strong, but not as strong as I thought it would be from the brewed tea smell. Interesting!

I love the pokemon cup, Salsero.

Drank Beidou #1, Sezhong, a sip of Sichuan imitation Biluochun, but mostly just chewed tea buds while climbing in the mountains.

I'm definitely both. There's times when I just want to be around people and talk and socialize, but then there's definitely times when I just want my downtime and the peace and quiet.

Sal, that Squirtle mug is amazing.

Interesting question, although I suspect that the answer will say more about people who spend a lot of time online than it will about tea drinkers in general.

I really enjoyed yesterday's poll. I added a bunch of stuff to my "to read" list based on what other people were reading. But today my literary pursuits are going to have to wait, 'cause I just got Battlestar Galactica season 4.0 in the mail! So I'll be drinking tea with the cylons all day.

This morning, some Keemun Concerto with my oatmeal.

I'm split right in the middle but also lean towards introverted for downtime like some have mentioned.

This morning no tea yet but plan on brewing up some Alishan using my new Zoji I got yesterday. I love this thing! :D

Definitely introverted, though I've trained myself to appear extroverted at work. I would say that most people at work don't know me at all.

I said both, but that's because I was so introverted for so long. I think lately, working in retail, and especially in sharing tea, I've started to enjoy the company of others more than being by myself.

I also don't seem to put on a facade like some of my friends say they do. Who I am at work, at parties and at my house are all exactly the same.

I'm not as introverted as I once was, but I'm still a loner. Because I teach college and face a multitude of people on a daily basis, I have learned to interact with other humans. However, I make sure my schedule each semester does not include Friday classes (I can't handle that many people for more than 4 days in a row), I don't go to parties or shopping with friends, avoid crowds whenever possible, and I live very contentedly in the boondocks with my cats, dog, tea, books, and lovely peace and quiet!

I am the owner/operator of a small boat repair and parts shop so I am an extrovert in that part of my life. In my down time, I am an avid bicycle rider/ amateur photographer, and cross country skiier. I would go nuts if I didn't have a goodly ammount of alone time, exploring the countryside. Also I kind of prefer animals to people these days. If you wonder why, just turn on the news.
