Welcome fellow TeaChatters to TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday 93% of responders indicated they would be influenced by TeaChatters this year in their tea choices. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. "Ask not what your forum can do for you, ask what you can do for your forum." OK, first of all, no guilt trips here. Many TeaChatters came to this forum for HELP or GUIDANCE in the realm of tea ... case and point, read yesterday's topic. Or read most topics on the forum. However, have you considered "giving back to TeaChatters" or are you already, possibly helping others who come to TeaChat for HELP or GUIDANCE? Please share your thoughts on this subject. Again, no guilt trips.
I am as always looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

I would like to be able to give back, but I drink black tea which seems to be not high on the list here. Nor do I own expensive and fancy Asian teaware, nor do I have the time or equipment to do lovely photography.
For now I shall sit back and soak in the advice.

I learned an enormous amount from this forum when I first started drinking tea. I try to give back, but I also keep learning more. It's like a well that never goes dry ...
By sharing in the pooled (mostly beginner) experience in the pu sub-forum, I have had a great winning streak with puerh lately. One after another great one. I attribute it not to my own luck or skill, but to the TeaChat collective wisdom … with some help from the boys in the B&B bunkhouse.

The other forums have been similarly helpful ... especially the green tea forum during shincha.

I posted a lot of sort-of-informative things back in the summer, not to mention a dollop of tea photos. Since then my life has got a lot busier and more stressful, so my participation has really fallen off. In particular I am desperately backlogged on photographing teawares... so many to shoot and share, so little time
So, I have contributed - some - but I feel that I haven't been pulling my weight lately. The guilt...

+1 with the exception that I don't give back nearly as much.Salsero wrote:I learned an enormous amount from this forum when I first started drinking tea. I try to give back, but I also keep learning more. It's like a well that never goes dry ...

And strangely enough, this picture is how my tea looks most mornings. I have a very similar chataku (might be a little smaller), and this morning, my sencha happens to be a little greener than the picture.
Mmmmm, sencha.

Oh boy, hard question. I'm so new to tea that I can't offer much help. Although, I have posted a couple of things on the oolong forum that have helped me on a couple of teas. I do come here for ideas. I'm excited that spring is in the air so I can venture into the world of fresh green teas. I'm sure after a while I'll be more of a contributer. You really can't teach what you don't know.
Ali Shan in my cup this morning. I brewed it wrong, so it's cold. Trying to do to much at once!!!
Have a great tea day!

I like to think I've given back somewhat. If anything it seems like a lot of other people have gotten use out of the responses of the questions I post. As my tea knowledge is still a bunch of information spread thinly over a bunch of topics, I don't have any specialized areas in which I can contribute more specifically and thoroughly. Although I'm still learning.
Some OJ this morning, maybe a Keemun next.

I love to give back and help where and whenever I can. Especially welcoming newbies and trying to answer their questions. I think the tendency sometimes is give them too much information. They can glean that in time by reading posts. They usually just need help with simple beginner questions and I think since I have only been here a year myself, it's easy for me to remember where they are coming from.
In my cup this morning - Adagio Yunnan Gold.
Have a nice day everyone!
