Sale at Ambrosia Teas - UtiliTEA Kettle

by Victoria » Jan 18th, '09, 16:50

Those of you wanting the UtiliTEA Kettle, but finding the price a bit steep -
Check out the going out of business sale at Ambrosia Teas for $31.95.

http://www.ambrosiateas.com/teaware_access.html

Sad, Ambrosia Teas was one of the first online retailers I started with - even before Adagio. They had a killer White Peony.

I am pretty certain that Adagio may be their main wholesale supplier, since they carry much of the same line.

I searched on here about ambrosia teas and didn't get much. Anything else worth getting tea wise from them?

Nah, it looks like more of the best teas have sold out.
That is the ones I like best.
The Genmaicha is close to selling out, it might be worth a try,
but I couldn't say.

A long time ago I inquired about Ambrosia having the
Adagio products and was told it was common for other
retailers to buy wholesale from Adagio.

I don't know if the tea is from Adagio, just most of their teaware.

my gf placed an order for an inginuitea and several teas. She paid for priority mail which is 2-3 days. 5 days in she emailed them to ask about the package and see if some shipping could be refunded due to the long wait for the package. They responded to that request by refunding the entire order. Obviously, 6 days in, the package never shipped. Buyer beware.

No wonder they are going out of business!

I ordered about a week ago and just got a very apologetic email about the wait and updating me on what was out of stock. They offered up a partial refund and to send along what they did have, or to give me a full refund.

apparently they let all their staff go before they filled the rest of their orders.

Choosing priority mail doesn't necessarily mean you're going to receive it in that time. That is entirely on the Post Office (or UPS, etc.) It's 2-3 business days of shipping. If it takes the company 5 days to pack and ship the order, it's still Priority if it only takes 2-3 days from the date of shipping to get to you. Why it would take more that a day or two to pack a tea order is an entirely different issue.

I placed an order for an ingenuitea and the Utilitea kettle the other day. So I am hoping it will be ok. It was such a good deal that I had to give it a try...

I am aware the clock doesn't start once I hit pay. This isn't my first rodeo. The point was that it was never sent. I think the post before yours provides an explanation.

Just an update, I just got an email confirming shipment of what i ordered that they had in stock. they also sent the partial refund thru as well. so they are working on getting orders out the door, even if very slowly!

a timeline of my order...
Jan 21 placed order
Jan 28 received email about items out of stock and offering of refund
Feb 10 partial refund sent, package confirmed to ship out

Mine's been almost the same except I ordered the 20th. I sent them an email a few days ago and got a reply saying that they are short staffed and so there is a big delay. I kind of got the impression they let everyone go so it is just the owner filling orders or something.
