"and now for something completely different..."

Made from leaves that have not been oxidized.

Shizuoka Sencha "Surugawase"

This sounds really different, maybe even unique, and Pentox, it is asamushi! It is on its way :D
O-Cha wrote:From the first harvest, this green tea is cultivated in very limited quantities in Japan. Produced by a celebrated tea master in Tenryu, Shizuoka, it is purposefully, and very slightly fermented, giving it a wonderful floral aroma unlike any other Japanese green tea you may have tried. It's a wonderful green sencha, yet hint's of oolong are present.
Does that sound different or what? The breed is Fuji Midori.

What say you, TeaChatters?

I have tried Fuji Midori breed, it was a gyokuro from maiko, it was well pronounced, deep green and the aroma lasted long.

I think I'm going to wait for the first round of opinions before trying this one out. I haven't had anything from O-cha that has impressed me as of late.

Well, we all know you are an asa man, thought this might interest you. 8)

Funny, I have not had anything from O-Cha that has not impressed me as of late, but y'all knew I would say that, didn't cha? :)

I will hopefully have it this week and will let you know my humble opinion. But I am going out on a limb by thinking this will be a good one. I am not sure what "limited" means in this case.

My guess is that by limited they mean that the varietal isn't produced in any great quantity. It's probably not hearty like Yabukita and not as good for gyokuro as say a Gokoh.

There's a thread about it over at O-Cha.com - sounds like it's a tricky one to brew.
I'm still waiting for my order to arrive.
