Good Monday TeaChatters, welcome to TeaDay. Please stop by often and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday responders indicated a fairly even split regarding whether they drank the same first tea of the day on a normal basis ... or not. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic takes you to the end of the TeaDay. Do you typically end your TeaDay by having the same type of tea, or exact same tea, or something different most times? Please share your end of TeaDay habit, or lack thereof.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone today, bottoms up!

On a typical teaday there's no determination for what my last tea is, unless I feel the need for something late at night. And in that case it is almost always, without fail. Hojicha.
The thing is though that if I'm going to have such a tea late at night has no determination, it's not like I always have a late night tea.

Well after my morning black, it's usually oolong for the rest of the day.
Those very each day depending on my mood.

I used to vary my final tea of the day ... the only requirement that it be something special or something I could fuss with. Somehow, over the last nine months or so it has become pu almost every night ... either shu or sheng, but almost always pu, probably because I have such a frightening oversupply of the stuff ... and much of it untasted.
This one can be moved from the untasted to the tasted category, but I have another sample of what may be exactly the same tea just from a different source!
Produced by Mr. He Shi Hua of Jing Mai Mountain.

Spent leaves can be viewed HERE.

I usually always end the day with a Japanese green.....usually Karigane or a medium quality sencha.....mainly becuase a lot of the time I will only get a few brews before I go to bed and I would hate to waste to pinnacle quality stuff and not be able to brew the life out of it! Anyway, I am anxiously waiting my new Yuzamashi.....it has left Japan and should be in my paws in about 36 hours

Holy moly, that's a beautiful little pot. I've been eyeing yixing with legs, but haven't found one I LOVE yet. I believe I have finally acquired enough teaware that new additions have to be in the "I LOVE it!" category or nevermind. heh.
I almost always finish the day with a different tea than I started, but I rarely drink tea past late afternoon, so I'm not sure if that counts.

I usually end my day with an oolong, sometimes a green, rarely a herbal. Houjicha is ny new day end tea.
Started this day with some Sam Bodhi, Ceylon tea from Palais des thés. Then two bowls of matcha, I think I'm starting to appreciate it more now, or it was just a good brewing. I'm on a quest to finish as much as possible on my tea shelf, so I can buy new teas. Lots!

I voted other.
I end my tea day with the tea of the moment.
The moment may last 4 days or 4 weeks.
But during the moment it will be exclusively One kind of Oolong from several different varietals and suppliers.
Until Christmas Eve I was on Wuyi. From then until yesterday the moment was DanCong.
A new moment starts today with Tie Guan Yin.

I like to vary. So I usually have a different tea at the end of the day. I have tea periods like Herb_Master, but usually with sets of tea. I had Dan Cong around lunch and Shui Xian in the evening. Now I'm out of Dan Cong so I switched to Da Hong Pao at lunch time.
Preparing some Da Hong Pao now. Can't wait

When I drink a sample of pu-erh, I usually drink it the entire day (2-3 infusions in the morning, 4-6 in the evening). Right now, I'm still sampling some herbal tea stuff that I received in a tea-swap. So it's all random right now.
I find myself in a similar situation as Salsero with lots of untasted pu-erh just waiting for me (and about 20 samples from Netsurfr on their way), and still debating whether or not I'm going to be serious about this in the long term to warrant a dedicated "pumidor." *sigh*
Meanwhile, I'm trying some White Ayurvedic Chai. Yet another tea that seems to be 90% some sort of strong spice flavor....

And how much is there at the moment? I'm down at four opened teas!Beidao wrote:I'm on a quest to finish as much as possible on my tea shelf, so I can buy new teas. Lots!
Currently, I'm sipping on some overbrewed PG tips - I don't want to have too nice tea when I'm working!
