by Chip » Jan 26th, '09, 00:16

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone! Celebrating the New Year, be sure to visit
The Gaiwan Contest!

Welcome to TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday, a lot of responders enjoyed a special Sunday brunch, but most did not. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is ... well of course, the Chinese New Year, and tea. Will you be enjoying Chinese tea today in celebration of the new year? Please share if you adjusted your regular tea drinking habits to celebrate ... or not.

Chinese TeaPartay at noon, EST? I am looking forward to celebrating the TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

Why not celebrate as much as the occidental environment permits! Tea for everyone!

Happy lunar new year all.

I'm still need deep in pu-erh samples, so I will be enjoying Chinese tea for quite some time (with a goodly amount of Japanese greens thrown in for variety, though).

In fact, I'm trying this 2008 Hai Lang Hao/Zhang/Mang'e thing or whatever it is. I think I have learned if I am going to rest the leaves inbetween the rinse and the first infusion, then I don't need a long first infusion. Whew boy!

Not really sure if I will get any free time during the day :P Frozen dumpling this morning might be my only celebration  But have got some medium roast oolong in office, and will surely try to have some tea if I get a little bit of time :D

I'm wandering through the Oolong Pass Box today, so I'm sure I'll keep China and Taiwan well attended-to. Happy Chinese New Year!

My first tea was a 4th steep of the Phoenix DanCong I started last night. The 1st and 2nd were not to my taste... 3rd was fairly nice... 4th this morning tasted strangely like a cigarette. Which for me is not a good thing.

Moving on... now having some Da Ye Wuyi from TeaCuppa. I probably went a bit short on leaf amount, but it's a nice roasty smooth taste, now on my 3rd or 4th infusion. I will post pics later of the unpacked box in the Oolong forum.

Happy Tea Day!

Sarah

Happy Chinese New Year - peace & prosperity to all! :) I already drink Chinese teas as is, so it just adds more fun to drink to it.

For today, I'm having Alishan with my moon cake for breakfast. Such a fun day for me since I get to eat lots of Chinese treats hehe. I probably should have taken off from work to celebrate it with my family :(
