Happy Birthday To TeaDay!!!
... and many morrrrre ...
Welcome everyone to the 366th TeaDay, a Birthday Bash, I hope you will join us in celebrating by sharing what is in your cup this day ... and discussing today's topicS!
I am not one to shout out numbers, but another milestone will occur today, TeaDay post number 20,000, which is an average of 55 posts per day. A lot was discussed and I truly believe LEARNED this past year on TeaDay.
Yesterday, most responders indicated they had traveled less than 50 miles as their longest TeaRun. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. How far away from home have you ordered TEA, the farthest away? Please share some details and how you felt about the overall transaction.
As a second sub topic, newbie Yash has a friend going to Ceylon on Friday and is looking for input from us as to who, what, when where, why regarding the best of the best Ceylon tea! Can we help him out?
I am looking forward to sharing This TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

The distance from Gainesville to Kunming in Yunnan province is 8,651 miles or 13,921 kilometers. I am guessing that is my farthest distance, but distances on a sphere can be deceiving, so maybe it is Darjeeling or Taiwan or some other part of China.
Happy Birthday, TeaDay. Geez, Chip, that is a lot of polls.
Winter in North Florida is more like a prolonged autumn up north, so I’m sticking with my fall colors, and a puerh with a pronounced nutty character. A squirrel probably ate the Pignut Hickory, not me. I just like to pick them up off the forest floor and handle them.

**geography edit**
Nick points out below that Artistic Nippon is farther away than Yunnan Sourcing, so revise my number to 6,854 miles away ... 200 miles farther. Mmmm, I guess that makes my Japanese habit more exotic than my Puerh habit!

The Furthest I have ordered tea from would be Japan....I used www.artisticnippon.com's actual shop location as my destination area to calculate distance from and using my geologic maps here in the geology dept. I got 11,020km........and when I checked it online it was 6,854 miles.....which converts out to about 11,030km.....I was pretty darn close for using a scale bar and piecing together more than a few maps and using lat. and long.........yeah...that was my idea of a good fun 10 minutes

I order tea from all over the U.S., so i just put a happy medium 2,500.
I never ordered out of the US, but I will very soon.
Anyone know of some, out of the US tea companies?
(not too pricey)
I would like to try some other greens or oolongs. PM me if you can help or send samples.

お誕生日 おめでとう、お茶の日!!
Definitely 5000+. Ordering from Japan, or China (depending on where you view where they are...!).
Trying out the 2007 Xi Zhi Hao 8582 sheng this morning. I'm getting a bit more love from this one. . . than I have from the previous two, which is making me wonder if I didn't burn out my tongue. I guess I'll have to take it very careful for the next couple of days.
