Welcome everyone to TeaDay. Please share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday, I was shocked to see that 70% of responders had purchased tea at least once from distances exceeding 5000 miles. Pretty adventurous group! You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic may shock you a bit. It is all about teabags! What is the best hot cup of tea from a teabag you ever had? (No cheating with fill 'em at home bags either) So, please share your best teabag experience, the best teabags you ever had, etc.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Maybe share a teabag or two? Bottoms up.
Don't forget to check out the Gaiwan Contest under Teaware!

Red Rose is good and I even like Lipton bags ... though I must admit that I don't often indulge in either. Playing with the teaware and the leaves is almost as important to me as the beverage. In fact, sometimes the tea itself is in the background of a session.

I voted for other because I couldn't think of another category that would fit better.
The best bag tea I have had is Foojoy Jasmine Silver Pearl, and second best is Adagio's Golden Monkey. I keep bag teas at the office for a quick lift or to share tea with a friend.
Last tea of the day was loose cooked 1993 Meng Hai Xing Xiang. I shared some with my mother who proclaimed, ``well, there isn't very much too this... it's awfully mild''. She likes to be assaulted by her tea, does not value subtle infusions.

I think Adagio's TKY is pretty good, but THE Best vote goes to Teahome from eBay.
Their Tea Sachet sampler will surprise you. It is great for taking to restaurants. Adagio Golden Yunnan is also good for breakfast on the run.

When I make up a big pitcher of iced tea, it's a habit I just can't break.brlarson wrote:I have a question for you folks: do you squeeze the bag when you remove it from the cup???

Salsero took my thunder when he mentioned Red Rose, but as most know here, that's my staple go-to tea.
Happy Friday!

I've enjoyed some of Tazo's blends (the green/pepperminty one), and just last night I had a lipton(?) white tea and plum tea that was pretty good.
Meanwhile, after about a week and a half of straight shengs, I've switched gears and am trying a 1997 Xiaguan shu. Wow, talk about a change. And although shus run the danger of all tasting similar, this shu says, "How do you do?" Whew!

But in Europe it is probably even higher.
In the States you seem blessed with relative profusionj of Tea Stores, this side of the pond they are few and far between.
If one is going online to order, and the tea is being sourced from China, it kinda makes sense to order from China - - - - in that the many teas I have ordered from the U.S. of A. [briefly forgetting the alternative route across the Pacific]

Probably the best I've had would be some Japanese sencha bags from one of the online vendors, but that was about 18 months ago now and I've not had any since I finished those. At the time, it was all about the convenience of bagged tea at work, although I recall they weren't half-bad. Just not quite the real thing...
Currently on my 7th infusion of some 2001 Jin Chang Hao Yiwu and enjoying it very much indeed.

Breaking news
Just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm currently sipping one of Adagio's Zodiac blends, which came as a sample with one of my orders. It's LEO, which is surprisingly appropriate, since 'tis indeed my sign. It's not bad, either.
