I'm not really looking for in depth explanations, I know there are quite a few threads already that get into yixing far more than I'll ever need to understand
What I'm really looking for is just who brews DHP in a yixing, what kind you use, and just a basic idea of what you might suggest. Recently I've been drinking (heavily) DHP trying to taste from anywhere I can find it, growing a liking for the YSLLC DHP, so it gives me a good reason to buy another pot

I brew DHP in a pot that I got from Seven Cups.

I also brew the rest of my oolongs in it. Actually, I have a slightly different pot than the one listed, but they no longer sell the one I have (it's slightly smaller, 8.5 oz, and has a more rounded shape and top).
YSLLC sells a "Da Hong Pao" pot -- basically a striking red/brown clay pot. I got one of these to brew shengs and it's a beautiful pot. I imagine it would work well for oolongs, too. DHP made in a "DHP" pot... sounds right to me

I usually use this one (my general yancha pot and the first yixing I ever bought):
But yesterday I used this one and like it too (it's my roasted or aged baozhong pot usually):

Tenuki that yellow pot is quite striking. I've been looking around for a solid bright yellow pot for sometime now. Do you remember where you picked it up at?
I'll have to do a bit of looking around on the threads before I decide on a pot for dedication to DHP...

I would try using Dragon egg shape for Dhp type oolong, the ones with the twist of the dragon, because you can fit them in the egg, a shallow pot might not take the long leaves in easily.

don't remember where I got it unfortunately, it was a few years ago. I do remember I got it online, so probably either funalliance, dragonteahouse or ysllc.
the color is off on that snapshot due to night lighting, here is the other photo I have of that that is more true to life color. It's yellow for sure, but not bright yellow.

Devil's advocate here - also try brewing via a gaiwan and let us know how you think it compares.

I would just get some pots and try them out. The thing is that you could get a pot that's the same shape but because of other factors it could be the completely wrong pot for the task. There isn't a lot of science behind pairing a pot with a tea, you would be best served by simply trying them out.

Yea your probably right. I've been looking at a few on the chinese teapot gallery on ebay, particularly carved ones. For some reason, I've suddenly aquired a fascination with the teapots with detailed dragons and depictions of cities or mountain villages
