which kamjove maintains water temperature???

by mr. Less » Feb 4th, '09, 01:56

Hey people,

i am new to this forum, but i am glad ass hell i found you guys.
This summer i went to china to study tai chi, and while i was there i drank and bought some oolong tea.I really liked it, and thus began my voyage through the oolong universe.
I have been experimenting alot with different teas(from palais du thés and teacuppa mostly) and learning by trial and error. Its wonderful to see that each tea have its own personality and character(just like, people 8) )

but now i would like to buy me some good equipment.I already bought myself a yixing pot(150 ml) but now would like to buy an electric waterkettle.
I would love to buy a kamjove, but i have some questions that werent fully answered in other kamjove threads

- which models maintain temperature?(and when i take of the pot do they reset)
- can i use them in belgium with the voltage and all?

thanxs already for reading my first email

If so I don't thin teachat is the place for such an unfriendly and biased "advice"

Maybe he wants them to only pay $100 for the lesson.

In all seriousness, Oni, you post that beast in too many threads where people are looking for kettles. I say make a for sale thread and leave it at that.

Pretty much any model will have an automatic mode to keep the temperature within a certain range. It won't reset when you take off the pot. Most of these kettles work in a very simple / low-tech way - there's a thermostatic switch that turns the kettle on when the temperature dips below a certain range (when it's on the base and there's enough water inside), and shuts it off once it hits a certain temperature. There have been a bunch of other threads about this, so try searching the forum for some other comments.

Is Belgium ~ 220V / 50hz? The Chinese models are mostly 220V, so you should actually have an easier time finding a model that works for you than folks in the US. Dragon Tea House sells a ton of 220V ones.

i read in another of your replies that there was an annoying alarm with the kamjove, but i hope i am skilled enough to fix this 8)

+1

In all actuality I am glad you made everyone here aware and the Oliv. was able to point that out......at least nobody in the teachat family had to be the victim of something like this. There is nothing wrong with selling a "Yixing Teapot the Tastes Like Mold When You Brew With It"....thats fine....if somebody wants to buy it, great....but at least they know what they are getting into......its not fine to sell a "Great Yixing Teapot--Like New!" and it really tastes like mold when you brew with it.........this should be a forum where people can come....even if they come for only a few posts, to get solid advice from knowledgable people who have a passion for the entire artform that tea, teaware, tea brewing, etc. are. Not a place where people are tricked......

FWIW, I have a similar kettle (though from a different manufacturer), and have never noticed a silicon seal (or the smell or taste of it).

People get fooled all the time, do you think that every merchant is as honest as he seems, NO, this is marketing, one mans garbage can be another mans treasure, I scraped the silicone off the inside of the glass pot, and the whole thing looks nice, someone inexperienced can actually enjoy this teatable, and the merchant who sold this to me online wasn`t as honest about it as I was.

Is it still "brand new" when you use multiple times, it stinks, you scrape something off and presumably test it so you can make the claim that it doesn't stink anymore? Oni, you're digging your own hole.

Ugly? You do know this table is standard equipment on board 70s-motif Chinese spaceships from the future, correct?

Kamjove products

by teautja » Feb 6th, '09, 08:47

The photos on this page was made by me and captured from my web site (teautja dot hu)
The complaints about Kamjove glass problems are not trues, pirex glass not present any type of problem The technology originated in America, so don't circulate alarmism.

The Kamjove 8210 is a classic constant heated plat without possibility of regulation, 100 USD is a very friendly price for it.

The best product which is silent and keep temperature is the V series, V80 for ex.

The induction series is modern but rumorous.

Have a good tea!
