PLEASE pay close attention to the "number" in front of each entry since some participants entered multiple entries.
This round of voting will close on Sunday 2/08/09 at 11:59PM The 2 gaiwan with the most votes from each of the 4 polls will advance to the final round. In the event of a tie, all top voted gaiwan will advance, BUT only one gaiwan can advance per participant.
Good luck to all participants. There will also be at least one consolation category that wil be announced, so gaiwan that did NOT advance to the final can still win a prize.

well struggling to recover from a virus - got my camera out and a Gaiwan
could not decide which oolong to choose - so opened a sample packet of Huang Shan Mao Feng
assembled the gaiwan

and added the leaf
started brewing and drinking
then remembered to snap the spent leaf

all done

What a struggle to get the camera to capture the real Blue colour of my Deep Blue gaiwan
This is far too pale
This is closer - but badly lit and poorly focussed

assembled
4 Grams of Teo Chew tea
Teo Chew in the Gaiwan after rinse
and after 1 infusion - so was the previous I think I discarded an out of focus rinse leaf
2nd Infusion following quickly - Teo Chew is very fruity
steaming away
look again while I drink the tea
but the colour is wrong
when the colour is right I can't hold the focus

but the tea tastes good anyway

I own one gaiwan and it is plain white. Maybe there will be a conciliation category for plain white gaiwan.

Now shown drinking Shan Lin Shi.
#7 Oni

Handmade, handpainted, beautiful.

Very thin walls, it is designed for green tea.

This is my main baby - don't know how I ever survived without it!

Now I'm saving up to get the matching cups that go with it![/img]
