Premo O-cha Greens

Has anyone tried the Uji Asamushi Sencha or the Fujitsobo from O-cha? They look really interesting, but are they worth it?

I had the asamushi shincha version and found it to be quite good. As with all asa, it has a much different flavor profile than fukamushi. I have not tried this ichibancha (still first flush but not shincha) version.

The Fujitsobo (SP?) is very nice gyokuro. I found it to be most agreeable, but prefer the Kame and then the Hou versions. I have to double check the spellings a bit ...

The Kame is really amazing and can be bought in 50 gram bags which makes it really worth trying!
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Both are excellent.
Are they worth it? Personal opinion: The Uji Asamushi definitely, it's a superb sencha. I prefer it now to when it was sold as shincha for some reason.
The Fujitsobo Gyokuro is also very good. I feel it might be a little over priced simply because it is from Tsuen (but so is Asamushi if I recall), but maybe not. I've only had it once. I usually skip it for the Kama Giru Shi, Gyoku Hou, or Yume no Ukihashi.

Do you also like fukamushi, or is asa your main squeeze?

I keep wanting to try the asa, but I keep balking at the price everytime I go to order it. As far as the gyo goes, i'm not terribly inclined to try all of o-cha's gyos since i'm finding myself leaning much more to the yame side in the yame vs. uji battle of the gyo.

On another note, i'm preparing for the yame sencha showdown.

I like both, though fukamushi is maybe more forgiving. Is asamushi more difficult to brew 'just right' or is that just unique to me?

I also find asa much trickier to get right, but I enjoy it when I go get it right.

Hm, I wouldn't say one is harder than the other to brew. But I find that fukamushi has less range of flavor than an asa.

Ujibashi san no ma is a very good asamushi sencha. I still prefer Ippodo Kaboku sencha (which is by the way a little less expensive) but they are both high quality sencha.

Fujitsubo gyokuro is a nice gyokuro, maybe a little too light to my taste (Kame giru shi is a better choice but 20% more expensive)

Kame, Gyoku Hou, Fijitsubo in that order. I also enjoyed the less expensive Yame.
