Where did you buy your kamjove?

by balmung135 » Feb 10th, '09, 09:22

Im in the process of looking for a new kettle (currently using saucepan on stove) and was wondering where to find kamjove or other high quality kettles. Most of the links I see are to japanese sites or to ebay and I dont want to buy one that doesnt work in America.

You can buy converters for the plug and the power too, so it is no problem, I am using chinese equipment without any problem.

I bought mine from Dragon Tea House

they have 2 made for U.S. voltage and 9 for European

but as Oni says, you can always use a converter if you prefer one of the non US Models

birdpick.com has a few models of the Kamjove that are designed to work on 110v.

Or you could always visit your friendly neighborhood Chinese supermarket. They usually carry the KJ-750 or V60/80 for about $16-$20 It's interesting how a kettle that costs less than $14 in China will be sold for over $60 in US. I currently use:

KJ-750 v110 model, along with:

S100 v220 model with a voltage converter.

I've also been drooling over their Classical 1989 Kettle:

Best of luck to you.

Most of the camjoves at Dragon Tea House (all but the most expensive ones) do not have adjustable temperature setting. They only seem to have manual and auto. What does auto mean? just off boil or??

I got mine from Seven Cups, set for American voltage. I got it at their teahouse, so I'm not sure if they sell them directly online or not.
