Happy Friday the 13th! Welcome tea aficionados to TeaDay. Please stop by and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday most responders indicated that they had more space tied up with tea than teaware. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today is going to be a TeaRoom TeaDay, and a bit off tea topics, well, a lot off.
But days like this gives us a breather and an opportunity to get to know each other a little bit more.
So, a little geography today. How far away from your birth place do you live today? Strange question perhaps ... please feel free to share some details if you feel so inclined.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

Been living in the same city since birth, and will probably be here for many more years until grad school is finished.

Wow, it would be so sweet to stay in the same place for your whole life. As nice as
traveling can be, people
move too much and too far. Minneapolis, MN to Bloomington and Gary, IN to Caracas, Venezuela, to Gainesville, FL.
Fukamushi Supreme, Hosta flower, Chataku from Olivierco ... living large in Gainesville!

I live three or four miles from where I was born. I've lived in and around Boston for my whole life, and I wanted my kids to grow up with family nearby.
Jia Ji late last night and Bi Lo Chun early this morning.

Sal, is this photo from your unused archive, or are your hostas blooming already? Either way, lovely!

It's from the vault: October 22, but I think the hostas were still blooming until our last round of nasty freezes a couple weeks ago. These are at the office, so I don't pay them a lot of attention. It's only recently that hostas were developed that could survive in the Florida heat, so they are still a bit of an exotic here.

Those Florida "winters."

We'll see lots of flowers here though, starting in just a couple of weeks with the crocus.

I was born in Missouri and now live in Virginia Beach, VA, so it's about 900 miles, or less than 1000 miles. I am amazed at how many people still live so close to where they were born! I guess if I didn't have the job I have now, though, I would still be in Missouri.
I'm having an unusually slow start this morning, so I haven't even made tea yet. Not sure what I'm going to have. Maybe some ali shan...

I was born in Sheffield, England and now live in Leicester (about 75 miles away). However I grew up near Camrbridge (about 135 miles away).
"Organic Dragonwell" from Teapigs this morning, at my department. Bought these bags from my local deli and they're not half bad, I really like the way the leaves look in the 'tea pyramid'
