Welcome TeaFriends to TeaDay. Please stop by and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday responders overwhelmingly answered that the main course was their most favorite food part while dining out. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's TeaRoom topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Based on your early impressions of tea so far this year, do you anticipate or feel this will be a better TeaYear personally than last year, or worse? Please share your thoughts on your outlook for 2009 in relation to 2008.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

Hip hip hooray for Third Place winners!
I expect this year will be (and so far it has been) better than previous years because of the great coaching, sharing, and camaraderie of Tea-Chatters. This is especially the case with the Puerh Bunch and the Japanese Tea Lords, but I'm really enjoying some of the new life in the oolong forum's recent spontaneous tasting of TKY from a new vendor!
The Chinese Greens are about the only area that never seems to sizzle in TeaChat ... here's an inspirational photo toward correcting that!
Maybe this year will take off as we soon enter the Chinese greens Spring harvest.

I voted better... because I know what I really like more now, and I have made such good contacts here that I know better vendors to choose from. My O-Cha order today is living proof of the fact that 2009 shows great tea promise:
-powdered sencha
-chiran sencha
-uji matcha kiri no mori
-organic matcha kaoru
-Japanese whisk, ceramic whisk holder, bamboo chashaku
Next I plan to order some oolongs... then in the spring, some shincha and FF spring darjeelings. Yummm.
In my cup now is one of my signature blends... A Bite of Peach Pie Chai... fruity spicy blend, very aromatic, enticing, and enjoyable.

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***

No idea. I think I'll probably buy a lot less crappy tea this year, so hopefully that will be an improvement.
On another note, I finally captured good steam. I don't know why that has eluded me for so long, perhaps due to not drinking much tea in my den in the late afternoon, when the sun is sliding over the roof. I'll have to do that more often.

I'll be making better choices this year.
I know what I like now, I'm pretty much done looking around.
I love trying new teas when they come my way, but I'm through
searching them out. This year will be all about appreciating
the ones I love.

This shincha season I am going to order a good selection from a range of vendors and get much more involved in the reviewing side of things, will be great!
Teapigs Long Jing this morning

This was similar to my lines of thinking when I voted "better"...GeekgirlUnveiled wrote:No idea. I think I'll probably buy a lot less crappy tea this year, so hopefully that will be an improvement.
Although I have to admit, I'm enjoying a Da Hong Pao this morning, which is one of the first things I bought... so we shall see!
geekgirl- great pic!
salsero- great pic too esp as I happen to have some dragonwell in my cup decorated with a dragon this am
I voted better year- yesterday's gyokuro said it all! Never even heard of that til this year. Even if nothing more happens which I can't imagine- it is already a phenomenal year!
I love Japanese greens the best but I'm finding that I like oolongs and pu too. Should be fun, budget willing, to play this year.

Geek, I adore your photo!
I voted "about the same," since I already had a decent hold on what I like. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Ugh, it's a balmy 76°F in my room at school (over which I have zero control) while it's 19°F outside. It's a little bit ridiculous, and my morning cup of Assam is thus making me sweat.
