Den's Sale Kyusu
Den's has an 11oz kyusu for $8.95, limit one per customer. Here's the link to it, in case any one is interested in it: Click Here.
Isnt that the same kyusu that's in the Novice Set for first-time buyers? If so, the price is the same and includes a number of green tea samples... but only for first-time customers.

since i was going to order some of the sakura sencha i decided to get this kyusu as well >3<
it's 9oz, and feels like it is glazed, that is very smooth and the inside/outside looks and feels much different than around the rim of the lid which seems to be unglazed.
covering the hole seems to stop most, if not all, of the flow of tea (mmm houjicha gold)

You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me. ~C.S. Lewis
+1. I might also add that the pour is fairly quick and it drains completely. The only real problem I've found is that, when filled to a little less than capacity, tea will leak out from around the lid while pouring, which is not something I've encountered with my other kyusu. Overall, though, it is a better pot than I was expecting for that price.Ryoruki wrote: it's 9oz, and feels like it is glazed, that is very smooth and the inside/outside looks and feels much different than around the rim of the lid which seems to be unglazed.

But you can take that with a grain of salt, because I'm the first to admit that I know next to nothing about kyusu.
I just received my Den's order which included the bargain kyusu... I chose to do the first-time-buyer special which included the shudei kyusu and samples of a variety of green teas... all for 9.95... labeled "Green Tea Novice Set" for first-time customers only. I haven't used the pot yet, but it feels good in weight, the lid seems to fit well, and the mesh filter seems sturdy enough. Overall, it looks much better in quality than a similar pot I got from a reputable ebay vendor for a higher price.
I also picked up the Kokoro... a lovely little black-glazed kyusu... and just used it to brew up some Sakura Sencha. Lovely little pot, fast pour, couldn't be more pleased for the price. I got the pot and some sencha fuka-midori for 26.50, or you can get the pot alone for 19.00.

And the sakura sencha is absolutely delicious, puts all other flavored green tea I've EVER tried to shame.

Break that seal and get a brew going! I was pleasantly surprised that there was no "cough syrup" flavor at all... really subtle and natural and a nice complement to the sencha flavor. I may order more.

pasttimes, when i went to brew up my sakura-sencha i filled it near to full and noticed mine did the same, but even if you fill it a bit less it still makes a sizable cup! when filled with a little less than full i didn't have any leakage from the lid.
the sakura sencha has me thinking spring! :3 even if it's below freezing outside xD

Oh yes, it’s definitely more than enough even without filling the pot completely, and works perfectly that way. I’d actually already done a couple slightly smaller batches before, but got a little distracted while pouring in the water this afternoon. Lesson learned!Ryoruki wrote:pasttimes, when i went to brew up my sakura-sencha i filled it near to full and noticed mine did the same, but even if you fill it a bit less it still makes a sizable cup! when filled with a little less than full i didn't have any leakage from the lid.
