Totally new to loose leaf tea and have one last question before I begin. My tea will come in tomorrow and I am still a tad confused on one thing. How much does a teaspoon of green tea weigh? I purchased a scale but how many grams should i use to get 2 or 3 brews from the leaves?
1 tsp Green Tea = x grams?
1 tsp Oolong Tea = y grams?
1 tsp Black= z grams?
Does 1 tsp of tea have one set weight? My guess is no.
Once I learn this, I believe i will be ready to begin my "real" tea adventures.
Thaks for all of your help thus far.

Traditional English brew is 2.3 grams per 6 ounces water. Many multiple steepers follow a ratio depending on the tea. For sencha for instance, I use about 0.7 - 1 gram per ounce water. Oolongs I tend to use over a gram per ounce.
There are other variables to take into account, like using more leaf will decrease brew times considerably.
Good to see you around the forum.
