Hi

There's a whole world of teas, many of which you will probably be absolutely fine with. I would suggest having a good browse over some threads on the forum and ordering some stuff you like the sound of. Have you considered it might just be the particular tea you have and not bancha in general that's causing you problems?

Great first post btw!

It may have been the particular selection, unless you have a sensitivity to tea in general?

Ironically, a lot of bancha is recommended for elderly in Japan because is less apt to cause stomach distress.

Perhaps roasted bancha ... houjicha.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Yeah, nice topic for the first post.

I hadnt such problems with white "Pai Mu Tan".

I hope that its just this specific Bancha-tea, in fact i think its a very low quality bancha.

I am thinking of trying other banchas, hoichas and kukichas.

I could stick with the white tea, but i dont like the caffeine.

Maybe they got some herbal laxative tea mixed in with their Bancha. Does the Bancha taste bad or upset your stomach prior to the undesirable end result?

No, there are no additional herbs in there, but it has a very strong taste. My stomach is OK, despite sometimes i get a little heartburn.

I think i will just trydifferent teas until i get the right one. Dragonwell will be worth a try, as are chinese green teas as a whole.

In the "Kukicha"-thread someone wrote that he had problems with his stomach and he solved this problem by switchting from Sencha to chinese Green Teas.
