Thursday TeaDay 2/26/09 April-May tea search?

by Chip » Feb 25th, '09, 23:55

Welcome to TeaDay everyone. Please stop by throughout the day and share what is in your cup today.

Yesterday, the vast majority of responders indicated at least some interest as of late in the "new harvest and shincha." 11% indicated they did not give a hoot. 8) You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Come April - May (typical shincha/new harvest time), what tea will you likely purchasing the most? It can be new harvest or not ... since not everyone is concerned with the new harvests.

I am certainly looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Ooh, I'm so early in the thread! How exciting!

I voted oolongs mostly because they are the tea that I am lowest on, so I'm sure I'll put in some orders in that time frame. Sencha would be a very close second, though. So really, it was probably a toss up.

Just finished up some mandarin orange green. At some point, I'll need to go to sleep. But not yet!

Ah shincha is definitely on the top of the list. I don't really look for anything else in the first few months of harvest.

Eh, dunno  I don't really PLAN my tea buying. I will buy what I will buy. But I certainly look forward to this years Long Jing! Right now, I have more tea than I need so no purchases for a while. Drinking Baozhong after my wakeup, Yerba Mate.

Happy Teaday to all!

Well, I buy new Pu-erh monthly, but my Oolong and Darjeeling purchases will surely spike a bit.

Currently drinking Xiaguan Golden 8100

Greens from both China and Japan should be of interest in Spring; but at the moment, Adagio's Fujian Baroque is in my cup. In the photo, however, is the sencha that was in my cup last night!

I'm toying with the idea of brewing me some of those maple seeds. Think they are poisonous?

What a nice, peaceful photo today, Salsero!
I really like the Fujian Baroque, just had some yesterday. It reminds me a of cocoa, but with an edge.

Mostly GREEN for me as I havent tried very many chinese greens. Actually I don't think I have ever had a Chinese green now that I think about it  but that will change.

Salsero you really got me there for a minute!
I didn't know what Fujian Baroque was and when I saw all thoughs maple seeds around I thought maybe Fujian Baroque was maple seed tea

I was exited for a moment that maybe I could get tea from our maple tree
Nice picture though
