New To Puerh Set

by brandon » Mar 2nd, '09, 07:37

I have a slightly large Yixing that has barely been touched, plus 4 tasting cups that are going unused in a drawer. One cup has a tiny chip around the rim.

I am looking for a good home for these items. First come first served, but I am looking for a tea enthusiast who is comfortable with gong fu brewing, but just breaking into puerh.

Samples of my choosing will be provided, but I promise they will be selected for high quality.

Table not included!

I won't be able to answer any private messages during the work day, so if you think you are that person, post here and we can work out the details later.

You have great timing on this, Brandon. When we went to the mall on Saturday, I stopped in the Asian store where they had a large glass jar of puerh bings. I didn't get one since I wasn't too sure of the quality and the storage method, but they smelled so good that they definitely made me think about reading the threads in the puerh forum a little more closely to find a few puerhs that would be good to start off with for sampling. I am comfortable with gong fu brewing in a gaiwan though I don't have a gong fu sized Yixing pot yet.

Btw do you know where you got this originally? most of the yixing pots I come across are always shaped really funny or look like some kind of animal.

This is from Yunnan Sourcing on ebay, from a maker that bills themselves as "Lao Zhu Ni". This is certainly false, but they do provide above average craftsmanship. Most of their pots are 150ml or larger.

I have some pots from YS also up for grabs, reply here or PM me for some details.

"I am looking for a good home for these items. First come first served, but I am looking for a tea enthusiast who is comfortable with gong fu brewing, but just breaking into puerh. "

i would like them to go to someone who fits that criteria as well. Samples also of my choosing.

*update - 2 pots spoken for 2 more for the take, i pick out names randomly and its not on a first come first serve basis so don't be mad at me or send me angry PMs thx.
Leaving this open until the end of the week in case more people who would be interested.

You guys are amazing! Well Remedial I sent you a PM but my internet is being weird and I'm not sure if it went through so I'll write here just in case! I was wondering if you would consider me as a candidate for one of your extra pots! I know I haven't been around the site for very long but I've been studying tea like crazy since I joined and have been loving every minute of it! Haha, I have been practicing gong fu for a bit now and have gotten decent at it and my first set of pu tuos and samples just came in literally 2 hours ago! So I'm definitely new to pu erh world! Many thanks in advance for your consideration! :D
