by Chip » Mar 7th, '09, 01:58

Welcome TeaChatters to our virtual TeaRoom. Please stop by and share what is in your cup with us throughout the day.

Yesterday, while most responders indicated no major change in their steeps sizes, may indicated their steeps were getting smaller and only 2% indicated their steeps were actually getting bigger. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaRoom TeaPoll and discussion topic. Congrats, you have may have already won Publisher's ClearingHOUSE special prize designated to stimulate the economy, particularly the housing industry. So, you can choose the house of your dreams. What would it be? Yeah, I know, I cannot list them all ...

I am as always looking forward to sharing our TeaRoom with everyone ... and btw, bottoms up.

Classic craftsman, updated with plenty of "green" features, and moderately sized.

First thing in the morning, I'm breaking into a tin of Wakamatsu-no-mukashi. Right now... off to bed. Matcha the Budgie acquired a companion today. We'll see tomorrow how integration progresses. This evening was a bit traumatic with the flapping and panicking.

Oh, castle no doubt...

Maybe one overlooking the Rhine river in Germany. Course I couldn't give up my Southern roots, so I'd have to find a way to get that private jet to carry me over there on the weekends.

Cheap shu tonight. Good stuff.

Give me enough space to house me and my collections, and I'm happy. But as long as Publisher's Clearing House is footing the bill...

I cast my vote for a mansion. When I was a kid, I always dreamed of one day owning a huge old house filled with forgotten rooms and hidden passageways. (Yeah, I read too much.) Of course, I'd probably go broke just trying to pay the heating bills on such a place, but it'd be worth it. Besides which, I'd have plenty of places to hide when the bill collectors came calling. :D

Adagio's White Monkey in my cup.

I was torn between the log cabin and the castle. Definitely gotta be in the woods either way. Of course, I'd probably really go with the log cabin with all the modern amenities.... :D

I decided to try to continue with the Bulang pu-erh that I started yesterday to see if the lack of taste I always seem to be getting in the evening was due to the tea, or me. It turns out that I can only barely taste the elements that I was tasting yesterday morning, so I guess the teas really are just dying out after 2-4 brews. Hmmmm...... I may have to keep testing this to be sure :D

I voted 'other'
I would want a spanish style mansion. And somehow a big covered wooden deck would have to be incorporated. It wouldn't have to be too big. Just comfortable enough for the four of us. (I'm the one who does the cleaning). Oh, and the house would have to be by a big lake. We live close to the ocean right now, but I prefer lakes.
Right now brewing: 'Awakening'.

I read the fine print and a highly-rated efficient cleaning crew is part of the deal, as well as a garden caretaker. :D

I'd hire a housekeeper for this house first, and then Himself and I would talk.

We'd both like a place in the mountains, probably northern N Mexico or southern Colorado. I'd like a big deck, large windows, an open design, and something very "green" and soothing.

I keep playing the lottery...maybe someday.

Yunnan Noir in the cup. I love this stuff.

I said castle though the poll didn't specify if it is was a western castle or a Japanese shiro 城; I'll take the shiro please :-D

This morning I explored the Kotobuki again, first as thick in the kuroraku chawan, then as thin with my new Kisen 80-pon date chasen in my winter hagiyaki chawan. Oh, and for once I didn't have milk and Raisin Bran for breakfast, I had real asagohan (morning rice), leftovers from last night. I don't think that changed the taste of the matcha even though it is more traditional (I didn't have any fish though). Kotobuki is good stuff but I still prefer Manten. Manten, Manten, Manten...

I'm going to the local Harumatsuri (spring festival) at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto this weekend where I hope to sample some interesting tea.

Asian (Japanese) style please, with a four-and-a-half-tatami tearoom and ... oh, let's go for broke ... a fully stocked mizuya (tea preparation room). And a roji (tea garden) with plenty of Japanese maples, pines, and moss everywhere. All that good stuff!

That sounds good Chamekke, with beautiful Japanese landscaping and a huge Koi pond with various steams and a bridge.

In my cup this morning: Yunnan Golden Tips.

Have a nice day everyone!

I would like a castle. Preferably the traditional stone kind with a few large fire places, a good sized library, a full modern kitchen, hardwood floors, and plenty of storage. And a lovely garden outside with lots of trees, flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Maybe a small pond in the backyard, or at least a stream running somewhere through the property. It would be out in the country where everything would be green and pretty, but not too far away from civilization.

Currently in my cup is a ceylon mixed with some Orange Blossom Oolong and a dash of maple syrup to go with the French Toast that I plan on making shortly.
