Happy TeaDay everyone. Please stop by and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday responders were very diverse in their responses about where their dream home would be on a rather quiet day on TeaChat. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Please read carefully. If you had a choice of:
Personally visiting your favorite tea producing region complete with all it entails ...
or
Reading or hearing about someone else's TeaJourney to this region
... which would you choose? In other words, would you like to actively or passively experience your favorite tea producing areas?
I am looking forward to hearing your answers on TeaDay. BTW, bottoms up.

Interesting you ask this now. Though it isn't my favourite tea producing region (it's up there), I managed to fit in a little over a week in Darjeeling on a trip to India next month.
Not sure why anyone would chose to live vicariously through someone else rather than actually go to one of these places, but different strokes for different folks I guess.
Today two sessions with Uji Sencha Miyabi. Too late for tea at the moment.

Some people don't enjoy traveling, let alone to foreign countries.... let alone to underdeveloped portions of foreign countries. I would definitely love to go, though...
Taking a brief break from pu-erh while my sinuses continue to grapple with spring (finally broke down and bought some anti-allergy stuff, which is more like allergy-suppression stuff), I am having some of Adagio's Yunnan Noir this morning with breakfast.

I would prefer to go there myself. In fact I plan to, I'll work this summer to save up money for next summer which will be my last summer before I graduate. Then I'll go on my big dream journey. To Japan, where I will pretty much check out most of the southern parts of the country. One of the highlights would be Uji.

Nothing wrong with that place
Having some Anxi Rou Gui while I'm taking a small study break.

Good poll question Chip!
Drax, I agree with your statement! "Some people don't enjoy traveling, let alone to foreign countries.... let alone to underdeveloped portions of foreign countries. I would definitely love to go, though... "
That is exactly how I feel, and some are fearful of flying as well as nervous of situations that may occur once in a strange country.
Well, having said that, I would definitely love to go too!
+1 Selaphiel One of the highlights would be Uji.

ACTIVELY!! as I do with wine producers (unfortunately tea producers are so far...)...uhmm .. I cannot find the photos I took in Ceylon years ago in NUWARA ELIYA, a terrific experience!

Hmmm... with all that it entails... that would include cost, ehh? Since the poll doesn't say money is no object, then I can assume I have to finance these excursions myself?
In that case, for now, I prefer to live vicariously, as the expense of this kind of travel is the only reason I'm not traveling to every exotic and remote location I've never visited. Much as I would enjoy traveling to China, Japan, and India, among other places... life is all about priorities, and I always have more prospective ways to spend my $$ than I have available $$.
Ask the question again where I can travel anywhere with no financial obligations, and I would be packing my suitcase and digging out my passport.
In my cup this morning... Tao of Tea's Goddess of Mercy TKY.... maybe getting old, it is just *ok* for me. The NCTG sample I had last week was much more enjoyable, but also a much greener example, as is my preference.
Wonder what will be next...

There's a lot of wine producing regions where I know a bit of the language and culture and would love to take an extended visit or even live there for a few years, but tea producing areas are bit exotic for me. Most of those I might enjoy more from a distance!
On a less exotic note, more dogwood in my photo today ... dog-eared dogwood. Sorry, Geekgirl, but I haven't managed to find any really perfect flowers this year because of a couple light freezes that came along just after they started blooming. The tea is Fo Shou, one of the "other" Anxi oolongs besides Tie Guan Yin.

Salsero, I think that those "dog-eared" dogwoods actually make the photograph. They look lovely alongside the brown of your little dragon and the dark-green of the tea leaves. Just stunning.
In my cup - nothing yet - I have an early doctor's appointment!
Poll-wise, if money were no object, I would absolutely love to tour the tea-producing regions in person. Just going to the ones in Japan alone would be a huge thrill.
