Thursday TeaDay 3/12/09 Most exciting TeaJourney time?

by Chip » Mar 12th, '09, 02:00

Good TeaDay everyone. Please stop by and share what is in your cup with us throughout the day.

Yesterday's topic confirmed that TeaChatters consume a lot of tea. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Your personal TeaJourney, when has it been THE most exciting or interesting to you? Please share with us when and why.

I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay as always with everyone! And bottoms up!

For me, just after the beginning when I discovered how much variety there was.

Fairly recently - well just since discovering TeaChat. I had been drinking tea for many years occasionally throughout my life. Then more so in the last 3 years when I had switched to whole leaf. But the whole thing exploded when I discovered oolongs.

Hello Tea Chatters! Like Victoria, I voted fairly recently for the same reason. Discovering TeaChat led me into the world of Puerh and Japanese greens, both of which I'd tried before with little success. Mostly an Oolong drinker for the last 8 years, but since I started lurking around here, I've found helpful tips that let me expand my tea horizons (and lighten my wallet).

In my cup is 2003 Dayi Yiwu Arbor (sample from PuerhShop).

The present! I've discovered the world of Japanese teas and have had so much fun and some very tasty tea brewed and enjoyed in beautiful teaware. I am also looking forward to trying sincha too.

Pretty much all the time. I'm closing in on my first full year of conscious tea drinking (and thinking) and the whole time has been packed with discoveries and wow! moments. And I've still got a lot of ground to discover.

Da Ye Wuyi in my cup this morning. Fairly pleasant but a bit unexciting tea. Good for the price I guess.

Yes, pretty much all the time. I was fortunate enough to find a nice group of people (i.e. TeaChat) right off the bat, and so started off at an awesome pace. It's been great ever since! :D

I think I burnt my mouth on some fries yesterday, so I'm going with a nice safe ali shan this morning. . .

That pretty much says it for me, too.

This morning, my first taste of Adagio's Golden Spring from a sample tin. Nice enough, but not likely to be reordered given the number of Chinese blacks I already love.

Fairly recently for me, although the last year has been pretty interesting for me tea-wise!

TeaSwap Yunnan this morning at home. Haven't decided yet on my work tea.

Fairly recently here, mostly because I know enough about what I like and don't like that I no longer feel like I'm just trying to find general types of teas I like but rather the specific teas. So it is no longer "will I like this tea or not" but "how much will I like this tea". And that seems more fun.

A toasty coconut tea for me this morning. I meant to stick some tea in for later at work but forgot. :( At least I grabbed my magazines (a mix of Entertainment Weekly and Hockey News). I have nothing to do today so I've already gone through one. Three more to go and it'll be a (sort of) productive day.

I voted fairly recently. I have known for ages that there is more to tea than bags but never got very interested until recently.

Pai Mu Tan in the mug this morning.

+1

I agree with this sensible statement! Having started with flavoured teas and now moving on further, every single day I've been discovering something new and even more interesting and enjoyable!

This morning I betrayed my faith for caffè espresso and almond croissant with husband but right now I'm asking forgiveness with a good cup of Fenghuang Dancong!

Nice day to Teachatters! :D
