by Chip » Mar 13th, '09, 01:39

I hope everyone has a great TeaDay today, and shares it with us. Please stop by and tell us what is in your cup throughout the day.

Oh, happy Friday the 13th for the second month in a row.

Yesterday, most responders indicated that their personal TeaJourney has hit highest points either recently or presently. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Do you multi task while drinking tea? Is it your preference to multi task? Or is a necessity to do so? Please share with us.

I am certainly looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

Very rarely do I ever just drink tea ... most of the time I am on line, reading, watching a DVD, working, taking a photo or working it up in Photoshop, but just drinking tea ... almost never. That's a nice thing about have a little local tea group. When we get together, the focus is principally on the tea.

I have really been loving this Genmaicha lately as well as my first bag of bancha and some kukicha.

If anyone knows the name of this flowering landscape shrub, I would like to know what it is. I think it has a bunch of red leaves during the summer.

Is eating considered multi-tasking?

I do it all the time. Prefer to? Probably not. With today's hectic lifestyle, though, it does make the few times I can concentrate solely on tea a little more meaningful.

Got bit by the shu bug again. Other than sweet iced tea, it's the only thing I've drank the last couple of days.

Well at work I multi task while drinking tea because I have to. At home I prefer to most of the time. I enjoy being here online. But sometimes when the weather is nice, I love being outside; just me and tea.

Sal your plant, I believe is loropetalum chinense or Chinese fringe flower.

While drinking tea I multi task at work as I have to. Normally begin with a cup of old pu erh which can warm my stomach and keep me in good condition. At home I will have a cup of nice long jing or tie kuan yin to enjoy reading and watching TV.

Sometime I will go out with friends to have tea. This kind of tea in Guangzhou and Hongkong is very popular which served with many dian xin in restaurant or tea house. We really enjoy it. In Guangzhou we have morning tea, afternoon tea and evening tea. You can stay in the restaurant the whole day.

I'm with Salsero (beautiful flowers, by the way!) -- I rarely am only drinking tea. Usually I am surfing the internet as my other activity, though, so it's not as the tea is "in the background."

Yesterday was a pretty full day, and I didn't have a chance to re-attack the pot of ali shan that I started... so I'm doing that now! :D

I almost always multi task... but then, I drink tea all day long, so it's not an event as much as it is a way of life. I drink tea at the computer or when watching TV... while driving anywhere, I take a cup with me... I keep some tea made constantly at work... and it's the first thing I do when I come home. The only time I don't multi-task is when I'm tasting something new, especially something highly anticipated. On those occasions, I don't want any distractions.

Darjeeling #1 in my cup at the moment, risotto on the stove smelling delicious... and then I'm making a magically delicious big glass of "Twilight - Edward's Thirst" signature blend to take with me on the drive to the humane society to see the new puppy... my current overwhelming favorite of flavored teas. Mmmmm.

Happy Tea Day!

Sarah
***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***

I would LOVE to be able to clear a nice quiet spot and gong fu or western brew and sit on the porch watching the world. I would even love to read a book while drinking tea.....however, this is not what I get. C'est la vie!

I am usually trying to not over-leaf, over-steep my tea while I am preparing schoolwork for my kid, doing my own schoolwork, laundry, dishes, etc etc. I have 3 travel mugs so that one is always clean for tea when I run errands or take the kiddo someplace.

My favorite moments....they happen about 2x a month.....is to get to take a nice hot bubble bath with a book and a cuppa....but I suppose that is still multi-tasking :D Eh, well, it's all relative!

But, given that the kid is with his granparents right now...I am gonna go dig through the Oolong Pass Box and see what scrumptious new tea I can enjoy all by myself and in lovely, wonderful silence!

I wish I could just have a quiet cup of tea but I'm almost always multitasking. I'm just too busy...

Once again Kotobuki thick and thin this morning before work and I'm about to make my first Kyo no Tsuyu of the day at work. Japanese green tea all the time!

I drink tea throughout the workday, so a certain degree of multitasking is required. Even if I'm slacking off, I surf the web or read something while sipping.

Sipping White Symphony right now.

I prefer to listen to music while drinking tea, either that or reading a book.

Having some Autumn 2008 Xi Ping Tie Guan Yin at the moment while listening to some Esbjörn Svensson.

I multitask because I must. I'm rather visual and I've found if I'm not looking at something, my mind ends up drifting and I end up missing out on what is going on - so with tea I end up not even tasting the tea because I get so distracted by my thoughts. Same with audiobooks. I can only listen to them while driving since then I'm visually occupied. Any other time I try to listen to them, I have to play a computer game or something or else I end up drifting off and miss whatever is going on. So if I did nothing but drink tea, ironically, I'd miss out on the experience of the tea.

Lovely pic today, Sal (as always!) Of course, it is pink so you know I like it! :)

Hazelnut in my cup this morning. Happy Friday, all!

I'm always multi tasking - it's a must. I rarely find myself just sitting there and drinking tea with nothing else going on.

This morning is genmaicha- running low on it and it's making me sad. I guess that just means I need to get more of it and some others that I'm eyeing :)
Tea tea tea... I like tea...
