I like to stick with one pot per tea type ... this one rose to sencha duty six months or so ago.

I have the equivalent of an IngenuiTea, and that's my current love. It was a Christmas gift in 2007, and I've been using pretty much only that since I got it. I still keep Adagio unbleached paper filters stocked up for large quantities of tea and for when I'm running out the door and want loose tea.

My favorite new pot is the hohin that arrived last Wednesday.

I needed a glazed pot to use for gyokuro and good sencha and this one is perfect. It does incredible things to gyo. The only sencha that I have open is a fukamushi, so that's out for this pot, but I have a yame sencha in the rotation for mid-April.

BTW, I needed a little lift after dinner last night at 8:30pm, so I had some gyokuro and I'm still awake  It didn't seem that strong.

So, Sleepytime in my big mug right now.

My wife decided to steal my stainless mug infuser, so I took back her Ingenuitea I got her a year ago or so. Surprisingly, I'm using it everyday and really like it. It makes just enough for my travel mugs and I don't have to look for a strainer or cover to keep the tea warm when steeping.

I go w/ a pot per tea type as well...

And this morning, I'm going with a black tea... fujian baroque. I brewed it much longer than I normally do (which I suppose is how most people brew it), and I'm enjoy its solid flavor on this cold morning. Mmmmmm.

Ah! Is this the same pot as my favorite newbie from yuki tea? :D
By sitting in peace and doing nothing,
You make your one day worth two days.

Among others, I have a favourite tokoname for my Japanese greens, a gaiwan for my Chinese greens (and a few others), and a small porcelain kyusu for miscellaneous/flavoured teas such as jasmine pearls.

Here's a really crap photo of my porcelain kyusu:

Sadly, I broke the lid two days ago ... into 3 pieces yet. This may sound silly, but I am really in mourning. So far my efforts to glue it together have, er, fallen apart - largely because it's hard to brace the three curved pieces together for even the 5 minutes required for "fast" epoxy. Can anyone advise me on an adhesive that will work quickly with porcelain?

P.S. Only found the (engraved) sig under the lid when I broke it. Phooey.

Awww, sorry, Cham! Poor Momiji kyusu!!!

I have certainly been there and done that. I did use a Krazy glue type product dampening the one side first. It would hold up for a while, but I finally gave up since it was a pretty junky kyusu from Upton anyway and it really bothered me  . So, I mixed and matched lid/base from 2 white Japanese (smashed the handle on another one years ago)junky pots to make one utility pot. I use it mostly for bancha/houjicha/genmai type teas.

Geeber broke her lid yesterday. So, 2 lids broken in 2 days, yikes, people, hold onto your lids!!!!!!!

Indeed, yes, it is this one, though I have only brewed sencha in it, not oolong.

Chamekke, sorry about your cute pot's lid! I never thought I'd mourn a pot or a lid, but proved myself wrong yesterday with my Brown Betty's lid. And I've only had it for two weeks! I contacted the vendor that I got her from (Strand Tea) and they luckily had a random lid in their storeroom. It might not fit exactly, but hopefully will still be useful. They are so nice, they are sending it to me free of charge even though it was my fault that it was broken. Your kyusu looks like it's one-of-a-kind though, I'll bet there's not a replacement lid available for it. :(

As far as brewing vessels go, I use my IngenuiTea on a daily basis during the work week. I love my Brown Betty, even though I have to use a strainer with it. And I just got my first kyusu from Den's Tea and I'm enjoying that too! I would be happy with a pyrex measuring cup and a strainer (and have been!) if it meant I could have some great tasting tea!
