Questions on Mambo tea

by nemesis256 » Mar 18th, '09, 09:21

I just tried this one this morning. The description says it's Yunnan and Wuyi, so they're combining black and oolong teas together? Interesting idea. It also says "guaranteed to rev up your engine each morning". Doe this mean it has more caffeine than most black teas? Is the combination between Yunnan and Wuyi the reason for this?

No, it doesn't have more caffeine but it is just a full bodied tea for an eye opener in the morning. I drink this tea once in a while in the afternoon. To me it tastes spicey like Zatterans brand red beans and rice mix. To some, this might not be a good thing, but I like it once in a while.

I ordered a large size of this and blend it with other teas. It does pick you up...of course, I drink tea ALL day. I love this because of the light, smoky flavor but it's really rich. I didn't know, however, it had oolong...thanks for the heads up!

Just got a sample of this and I'm really enjoying it. Can anyone offer any insight into exactly what Yunnan and Wuyi teas are in this? I think there are different types of both but I could be mistaken.

I'm not picking up on the Zaterain's flavor. When I hear Zaterain's I think of a sorta weak Creole seasoning flavor. Like Old Bay but not as tasty. But that's an interesting tasting note! It's great how different peoples' palettes pick up different things.
