Anyone had Hanako flakes sencha?

Made from leaves that have not been oxidized.

Anyone had Hanako flakes sencha?

Has anyone tried Hanako flakes? Any suggestions how to brew them? One of our Gainesville group has tried it without a happy result and we want to attack it again on Friday. According to the Ippodo site, it is made by simply pouring water through the leaves rather than steeping them. Of course, the site also lists it in the bancha section but calls it sencha.

While I haven't seen them myself, they sound like they are unrolled and thus flakes like tencha.

On another whole different note, I received a sample with my Den's order: Tencha-Kuki-Houjicha. I'd say that is carrying things too far.

I've got a bag of it, but I haven't opened it yet. I imagine that it's a fairly standard Konacha.

200 grams for a few bucks. If your friends have been drinking Yutaka Midori, they will likely find the flakes pretty blah.

I would consider drinking it with food or even flavored iced tea  but I doubt if I would enjoy them in a quiet moment with full sensory focus on the tea.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
